The more I think about it the more I think that Aubs deserve to start in the back row. I would have him with Cordner and SBW with Guerra coming off the bench. SBW on one edge with Aubbo on the other would be deadly, especially with Maloney and Pearce both being capable of giving good early ball. Throw in (hopefully) Jennings and SKD and this team could be anything.

That being said I don't know how you could bench Guerra, he was one of our best last year while Aubs was a passenger. Should be interesting to see what Robinson does.

Captaincy in NRL is 90% about leading the boys at training and off the field.

Performances have very little to do with it, I think it's hard to be too critical about any of the decisions when really we see nothing of the boys at training and what leadership abilities they have shown.

Speaking about skill and vision in another thread, Maubs has skill and vision that you just can't teach.

His subtle change in direction whilst hitting holes is an art form.

Too slow and bereft of footwork to be a centre, and not a damaging enough ball runner or ball player to be a threat in the forwards. I think he'll end up doing plenty of Newtown time this season

Maubs suffered in 11 and 12 from poor half services. He ran beautifully off Carney in 2010 which i think bolstered his confidence in D. Suffered from lack of creativity in 12 so I'm prepared to give Maubs BOD.
