I'm stoked on Jennings, but I'm exercising some restraint.

I'm expecting it to take some time for all the new combinations to start gelling.

The only thing I remember about young Jake Friend was that he hit hard.

You could tell he hurt blokes.

That seems to have gone out of his game, owing to work load.

I don't remember him ever being that quick or talented in attack.

I can recall the day we signed Braith Anasta.
Yes, he was the games most overrated player (MOPA) as voted by his peers a record 5 times.
        Yes, he was overpaid.
Yes he was very slow and had the creativity of a snail.
Yes he was appalingly Greek with a ridiculous name and a rude head.

But i thought, meh, he's gotta be better than Finch.

Fast forward 6 seasons and the club had gone through 3 coaches and 2 wooden spoons.
        He sucked

Cameron Smith is not exactly a speed merchant but he seems to go ok.

Friend needs some speed between the ears and im sure within a structured side with a simple role, he will go great. It wouldnt be easy to play hooker in a side which has no direction and both halves with no idea. All while wondering if a back is going to chime in with another 2m d/h run.

I for one appreciate his effort in the middle last year. There wasnt one worker in our pack. It's a lonely ol' job.

I wouldnt mind seeing Jake's try assists compared to other hookers last year. He set up a few with those face ballls close to the Line.

Expectations can be a dangerous thing, I'm still getting over 2011.

              Chook.

Couldn't have said it better, but I'll add he is 6'2 and 95kg and has scored 14 tries in 24 games.

7 seasons, 4 coaches and 1 spoon is my count.

But carry on even though your boys gorne. You're excited, Big Kev Excited.

I will get excited once we've won a few games during the actual season - trials don't count.

I'm done with high expectations preseason, only to be disappointed.

This year I'm not expecting too much and we'll see what eventuates. Hopefully I am pleasantly surprised.

                      • Friends,

We must exercise caution heading in to season 2013. The team has not proven their worth yet and we have been burned by expectation in the past. There are established teams currently ahead of us who are remaining low key that will be putting our unproven team on the cork board with a target to prove we are not the real deal. Success in sport is not just the physical aspect of games but also the mental aspect - the preparation, the dedication to go above and beyond, never relaxing and always striving to improve. These are the qualities that we are unable to judge right now.

Have faith however you must be prepared for a roller coaster season which is the only way our club knows. Enjoy the off season signings but the real work has not yet begun.

                        Easts to Win.

                          Paranoidsplinterarsebwaiffhater, I like BA.

With the new signings and positive direction the club seems to be heading in I'd have thought we were over Bwaiff mate, but fark me this bloke just can't get past his Poolander obsessions. Every single post has to be related to Bwaiff.

It's not exactly a healthy obsession. Unless it's one of Bwaiffs ex handbags.
