During Origin? Probably best time to do it. I don't agree with interchanging during games as has been mentioned. Worked partially last year under smiths dartboard tactics...

I dont believe that letting anthony minichello come anywhere neat that backline will benefit the roosters in any way shape or form. These kids are too fast and classy for old mini im afraid.

It's not an easy position and we don't want to put too much pressure on the kid.

We need to be patient with him.
I agree vasco, give the kid a year of swapping between wing and fullback and let him learn the trade.

About 23 but he had three full seasons of first grade including being a part of a premiership winning team.

true, but during those years we had a half decent fullback in phillips.
if it were the mini of 2010 and 2011 mentoring rts, i wouldnt have a problem with him playing fullback while rts played wing.
its just mini is past it. our best shot is to put our best team forward each week, and mini simply isnt our best fullback anymore

Anthony Minichiello has shown that he is the safest man under the high ball at the moment. To install Roger at fullback immediately is giving him an almighty baptism of fire. We play Souths, Warriors away at Eden Park, Anzac Day and of course the Bulldogs grudge match in the opening 7 or so weeks. These are not the games to throw him in to the deep end.

Roger's time will come there is no need to rush him in to fullback. Once State of Origin comes around let him move on to the wing and 'Mini' can see out his days as he began them.

good points. id love to see mini play fullback til about when origin hits, then rts takes over for the last half of the year, so he is ready for finals

Thought the exact same thing when I read this. I love Mini but our side will be so much more dangerous with RTS playing from the back. Be interesting to see what happens

thats the one. this is a choice a good coach would make. keep the experienced ones for the grudge matches, then slide in rts over the season, win win win
