The promoters use "Charity" to justify their greed.
Does anyone have factual figures on what total money passes through the gates etc & what actually finds the charity mark?
Like a lot of the these things SFA ever finds its target.
No problem with the money going to a good cause (as long as it gets there).....

With regards to the funds, most charities income goes to setting up the charity and creating awareness whatever that means. I have been involved with some charity work in the past, and I can tell you that some of the largest charities in Australia spend over 50% of their income just on foundation costs, setting up the charity, business expenses etc. The people the money is meant to help would be lucky to be getting around 40% of the proceeds, if that.
With regards to the Aboriginal community, I would be more in favor of setting up an actual lists of education programs or projects where the kids/Adults are educated into sports or tafe courses. I had the privilege of volunteering to work in some indigenous communities in Bowraville when I was in school and we'd set up holiday camps for the children. Something like 90% of the adults in the community have been in and out of Prison(and that's not an exaggeration), due to violence, alchohol related incidents, drug abuse and trading and rape. Handouts will not help the cause IMHO.Comment of the year:
