That would be the icing on the cake for an awesome start to this year.

Would love for it to be the Vermin ....would certainly be a damper on their usual February premiership !

Absolutely no question about that...has been alluded to in these pages previously.

Manly's computers were siezed and forensically audited by the salary cap team and when Souffs got wind of this, they immediately started "cleaning" their records to remove any trace of deception.

Hopefully they do that as well as they normally play footy and leave enough for our mate Schuey to do his thing.

Could be, they have just signed Champion, and reportedly an Adrian Morley type 19yo prop/SR from England Knights, he is 6ft3 and 112kg and is an ace, they have registered him with theirToyota cup side, they also made a play for Jennings after they have been on record in December after GI upgrade saying they don't have room in their cap to sign anymore players.

                        Who cares?

The cap is an unfair restraint of trade.

If I was a player, I'd be furious that there was an artificial ceiling on my earnings.

                        They should pi$s it off.

That's a furfee mate. The only ceiling on player earnings is based on how many third party deals his club can arrange. The cap is to stop clubs overspending but even then Pemriff are too dumb to add up.

                          Chook.

I think you'll find we said the same thing. There is a salary cap increase on its way.

would be a very boring comp without it, and some clubs (including even us) could be broke by now

some additional exclusions for developing players, long standing players etc are needed no doubt, but the overall cap itself is very necessary

I hope people on here realise how many sports worldwide utilise a salary cap of some description:

Salary caps are used by the following major sports leagues around the world:

Australia: The National Rugby League (rugby league) VFL (vicky kicky football or fumbleball), and A-League Soccer all include salary cap provisions.

North America: The National Hockey League, National Football League, Major League Soccer, National Lacrosse League, Canadian Football League, National Basketball Association and minor leagues in various sports.

England: The top-level leagues in both rugby codes—The Super League in rugby league & the Aviva Premiership in rugby union—have salary caps. Recently, several European soccer leagues have also discussed introducing salary caps.

Eurasia: The Kontinental Hockey League, based in Russia and also including teams in Belarus, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Slovakia and Ukraine, has operated with a salary cap since its creation in 2008.

France: The country's top-level rugby union league, Top 14, instituted a salary cap effective with the 2010–11 season.

In addition, the four Welsh regional sides in rugby union's Pro 12 have unilaterally adopted a salary cap effective with the 2012–13 season.
