He wanted Phacwitt, he got what he paid for.

Here's some good old background information on the original falling out between Rusty and PHACwit.

some additional exclusions for developing players, long standing players etc are needed no doubt, but the overall cap itself is very necessary
You can't manage your player payments, see you later.

no salary cap means all the richest teams will buy all the best players by offering them money that other teams cant.
then it'll turn in the epl, where you have the same teams at the top year after year, and the same teams at the bottom year after year. if one of your players does well, they get offered 5 times as much to play for a richer club, and they go.
If they're more successful than other clubs, they're more successful than other clubs.

I kind of managed to follow that linked article - to the culmination part where it positions PHaC (and, I think, Crowe) as dodgy businessmen who strategically made arrangements with Stadium Aust to buy their other private companies in exchange for Souths' commitment to the ground for 10 years.
It also posits that much of Souths' early losses were influenced by a culture of jobs-for-the-boys, nepotism and good old fashioned laundering.
I'm not sure how much of this I buy into, tbh. Perhaps it's all true and the story will come out one day, but in my opinion the article feels too much like the scrawled-in-purple-crayon meanderings of a conspiracy theorist living in his mother's house, with no company but for his awesome legion of all-knowing, subterranean renegade comrades who, with index fingers tapped knowingly against the sides of their noses, waste nanobytes of bandwidth masturbating over the ills brought on to Souths, post Piggins.
Not that I don't want it to be true, mind...Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

I do tend to agree with Pipe, lots of crazies with crazier ideas in RL, especially Souffs. But if true with what's written, there are some shady deals that have been done by Phacwitt. Glad he's not our problem.
