With the new superstar on our books, I'm wondering what effect this will have on opposition game plans and tip sheets against us.

I can see every coach targetting SBW and having special "tactics" to combat his effectiveness...its going to be very interesting.

For our part, this obviously frees up space elsewhere on the field that other players could exploit. Any thoughts on how Robbo might play this?

The SBW decoy could work a treat...but dont want to waste him though.

SKD will have a big year IMO. All the added attention on Sonny will give him plenty of space down the right edge. If Mini just hangs around like a fat kid at the cake shop off Sonny's shoulder the same could be said for him.
Opposition teams will definitely be focussing added attention to sonny despite what the coaches will be telling them. He will have a huge target on him every game garunteed

I look at the top back rowers, Gallen, Bird, Myles, Lewis, Stewart, Hoffman etc

I assume Sonny would have a bit of Hoffman/Stewart in him

I like the way Bellamy used Hoffman last year & also like Hoffmans no nonsense attitude, tackles & initmidates in defense as well as runs angles & sniffs the tires.

A similar approach wouldn't hurt....

The more effect it has on what the other teams try to establish what the Roosters/SBW do is only beneficial.

Worry about what's in your own back yard first.

I'm thinking Robbo will play a low key on this i.e; this is their problem, not mine.

i reckon its a good thing. as opposition sides get tired durin the game, their fatigued minds will tend to focus solely on sbw, this will open up opportunities for our halves, and our outside backs, to exploit these oppotunities. its good.

if i were robbo, id be getting rts to play fullback in attack, and just stick mini on the wing and hope he catches the ball and falls over the line without doing anything wrong.

The player who needs to run off SBW is RTS.

Jennings will be lethal running in space off sonny,Oldfield is really quick and would be hard to run down if sonny puts him away.Sheck hasnt got that sort of pace hes a creator not a finisher.If he gets a run at fullback look for him to chime in to the backline put a step on a defender and put jennings or oldfield away.

I like the SBW decoy jus have it look like sonny moving to the other side of the play n have Maloney pointing n talking n Wateva then have it look like SBW is getting it off a set move on the outside have a flying M. Jennings steaming on an inside ball straight through the gap try time... Then swap it around next time do the same but actually give it to SBW n try time again :-)
