I spoke to the membership section last week because I had to change my payment details and the gentleman told me they were sitting on just over 6,000 and were pushing for 12,000+ .... This was just before Jennings signature was announced.
i reckon 10,000 should be minimum.
its a bit harder for us seeing as we share the city with eight other teams, compared to someone like the broncos who have a whole city to themselves

For the inter-state members, how long did it take for your membership packs to arrive? I'm in Perth and renewed on the 7th Jan; and am still waiting for it. I've checked the order and have paid for postage.
thats also one thing the AFL will always have over the NRL.
they have a much larger and more consistent fan base
Spot on. It is not a sport down there Kegs. It's a religion. I am a massive AFL fan (Carlton), mostly from when I lived down there for a couple of years.
Whilst we love our football team, there are plenty of Sydney siders who could not give a rats. Go to Melbourne and try finding a local who does not support the footy. We will never go close to matching the fan bases of their inner city clubs. Carlton, pies, hawks etc.
