Apart from some awesome off season signings, I am absolutely stoked about the way James Maloney has slipped under the radar in the off season due to SBW and Jennings media coverage. A lot of people raise eyebrows when I am talking about the upcoming season and they mention about the signings of SBW and Jennings but Maloney is totally overlooked. I think that the fact he is out of the limelight can only be a positive and I think he has had a pretty awesome intro to the roosters with no focus on him at all. What do others think?

There was a lot of hype during the time of his signing... 12 months ago. That died down as the season went on, I don't think it has much to do with the SBW hype.

I did, in fact I made a thread about it.

I rate Maloney quite highly, long before his days at the Warriors so no one needs to tell me how good he is, I just don't think he's a good fit. That said I think individually he'll have some success here, running off Pearce & SBW & playing within a disciplined, field position dominated game plan.

So you would prefer Lyon to Jennings Dont think Maloney is the right 5/8 But have not asnswered fralphys question

The real question on everyones mind now is Are there any off season signngs that the club has made that you endorse ?

I am very happy we have Maloney this season... I think he will do a great job for us. But in saying that, we probably did pay too much for him as we were competing with other teams at a time when the warriors were on a hot streak... just my opinion

Maloney is obviously talented, honed at Storm , baptized at Warriors. Our challenge is to now marry the individual talents of the whole team to produce the best results.

He is from the Central Coast But he did go on a holiday to Queensland for 2 weeks when he was 16 That should be enough for Queensland to say he is a Queenslander

i agree, i reckon he has flown under the radar as well. i reckon he is an excellent buy for us. it will be only the second time since 2004 that weve had two decent halves on the field at the same time.
