I agree that it all turned to crap in 2011 but we still had a great halves pairing in 2010 none the less. Let's just hope our current halves pairing can string a few good seasons together and help us forget about the last 2 years lol

Stoked to have Maloney at our club, I really rate him and think that he can take a lot of pressure off Pearcey who has had to do everything himself playing beside the West Tigers new lock

There was a lot of hype during the time of his signing... 12 months ago. That died down as the season went on, I don't think it has much to do with the SBW hype.
It all comes down to availability. There aren't a great number of top line 6's. I think most would agree there are a few higher up the pecking order, but I think he will turn out to be good value and will complement the current squad. His line breaks and support play in particular will be a great addition to our team. It should also give Pearce alot more freedom.

Realistically we needed additional talent across the park, we have that with Jennings SBW and Maloney. If we had of gone for a Foran, we wouldn't have had the money to get both Jenings and SBW.

I think Maloney ticks a lot of boxes.

Great support player, speed, kicks goals...

agree, but I'd not be underestimating how much Maloney would have cost, given that he was signed at the time the warriors were on fire and made it to the GF

I think Maloney is a great signing. It's not like there are a lot of classy creative 5/8's on the market at the moment. It's also not just what he will bring on the field either. Maloney is a real character, a larrikin. He's the sort of guy who builds camaraderie in the team.

It is not like he was unknown to the player group he was with a few of them at the Storm , before he went to the Warriors.

His defence last year was ordinary at times to say the least. But I'm putting that down to 1 - leaving the club and 2 - the Warriors were going like busted anyways so it wasn't like he was alone arm grabbing.

Like Jennings I'm anticipating a massive improvement in that part of his game with a new coach and points to prove for both of them.

                        Chook.

Maloneys a footballer. Maloney has a very smart and well tuned kicking game. Maloney will do the 1% things others won't. Maloney is a family man with his head on his shoulders. He's a TEAM man. He's not a pisshead, won't finding him sh*ting in corridors, or setting his mates alight acting like a 5 year old.

                          Welcome James Maloney

All I can say is that I spent all of last year praying that the worryers would release him so he joins our team. Will he be as popular as horry??... probably not, but I can guarantee that he is definitely a step up from the fat greek.
                                Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"
