There was a lot of hype during the time of his signing... 12 months ago. That died down as the season went on, I don't think it has much to do with the SBW hype.

I'm very excited about what Maloney will bring to our team.

If I had $1 for every time a player in our bacline was called "slow" on this site, I would have retired by now. Jennings has what you can't teach ... raw speed, and planty of it. His defence is not as bad as some here are saying. If you saw him in Origin last year you would know he can tackle, and made a number of crucial reads as to when to rush up and shut down a play. With good ball from our halves, both Jennings & SKD will have a ball this year.

If we don't make the 8 with this team, this year, I'll eat Lemon Goats socks.
Mate you seem too intelligent to be hanging around this forum. Agree 100% with your opinion on Pearce and Maloney.
As for the Goats socks, good luck!!

You are right about Maloney but definitely his best attribute is his ball running. In 2011 he only had 4 try assists for the entire year. Johnson was their playmaker, not Maloney. Cleary allowed Johnson and Maloney to play to their strengths. Last season McLennan changed the Warriors attacking structure with Maloney forced to do more playmaking. Whilst he is adequate it took away his potency with the ball in hand and the Warriors suffered.

Pearce's strength is his passing game, particularly getting early ball away. Maloney can do it but not as well. His defence is the one major flaw in his game. Iam happy with what he will bring to the team in terms of attack.

Dribble Dribble Dribble!!!! Rooster6, is your glass always half empty?
              Plenty to be excited about.

Kennedy, Evans, RTS & Cordner all due for massive seasons in their respective careers and all imo the in a group of the best youngsters going around. Throw Moga in there too if he continues to make a quicker than thought recovery.

Pearce will finally get a season under a coach who will play to his strengths.

3 potential sell out Home Games.

I'm loving 2013 already, a different opinion on here at the moment seems to be criminal though.
Mate I dont think its the difference of opinions as much as the over analyzing you get into.

Leagues a pretty simple game really...doesn't need to be too complicated. I think your commentary sometimes makes for provocative reading but I'm not sure even you believe it all.

We have a top squad and have very little to complain about personnel wise....injuries being our only potential fly in the ointment.

Anyway at least you are talking footy and for that most of us are thankful.

Just some interesting facts, last year our leading try scorer was Pearce with 10 followed by Mini with 9, just saying.

Things will be different this year.

If SKD can stay in one piece our side will create enough chaos to get him 20 + tries IMO..

I also reckon Cordner will score 4 or 5 tries..

Lauire Daley could be the worst choice of a Coach NSW has selected over the years as he was the selector who constantly picked the same useless twots for the first 6 QLD Straight Origin Victory Series.

Bird and Wallace will be the halves this year...
IMO if both the Reynolds boys are fit they will be the halves for NSW.

I dont care who plays in the halves I just want them to beat Queensland.

I dont see it but then again all nsw halves are crap most of them play in patches

If that's our halves combination were Farkin dooooooomed.
Although I rate Adam Reynolds as a good player, his one and only year of NRL was behind a dominant pack.
As for that bulldog Reynolds, he is average to say the least. He too had the most dominant forward pack in the comp and a freak out the back. I don't rate him at all. A good competitor yes but an origin player fark no

id have josh reynolds as the bench utility for nsw.
he is much like bird in the way that he has some mongrel in him, and looks like he was born to play state of origin.

I rate Maloney quite highly, long before his days at the Warriors so no one needs to tell me how good he is, I just don't think he's a good fit. That said I think individually he'll have some success here, running off Pearce & SBW & playing within a disciplined, field position dominated game plan.
I have to agree with you on that one. I think Maloney's and Pearce's games are too similar. Id like to see someone a bit more elusive and unpredictable playing in our number 6 Jersey.

But in saying that I think our halves combination is very solid...not many teams in the comp would have a better set of halves.
