Definitely!!! Add to that our halves pairing of Pearce and Maloney and I think we could field one of the best backlines for the next 5 years or so

He's not a centre. He doesn't have the awareness a centre needs during defence, nor does he have the attitude or urgency. At the moment it is wing or nothing in my mind.

Centre's one of the hardest positions to defend in imo. Your decision making has to be spot on and you can be made to be a fool if your winger or 5/8 aren't on the same wave length. People forget just how average a defender Inglis was when he first started out in the centres. A lot of the decision making comes with experience and being able to work on a combination with your inside and outside defenders.

Dismissing an 18 year old because he was often found out in a woeful side is ridiculous. He's got a long way to go.

            Finally, a voice of reason...

He also has a long way to go to prove that he belongs in the team and also deserves a contract extension with out club.

If he was to play on the wing, I believe it should only be temporary.

Wingers today need to be able to compete for the high ball consistantly.

I don't know if Moga has those skills or even the physical attributes to gain them.

He's a fast, explosive, powerful runner. So I wouldn't be wasting my time in putting him on the wing just to have him in first grade.

He's contracted for a couple more years, let him do his thing in the reggies at centre and see if he can make it impossible for Robinson NOT to pick him for firsts.

                    Hi SConcierge,

We have seen them all before in recent years the next best big superstar at our club from Israel Folau's brother to the country superstar who never played firsts with us to the South African Rugby Union diamond in the rough.

Which he can learn in Newtown. It's first grade not welfare grade.

I like the thought of two big tall wingers in tupou and moga for our attacking shape...but for the longer term tau will be a centre.

In recent times, I think otherwise... I love my boys, but seriously, some of what we've had to sit through over recent years has been woeful and painful..

Are you kidding mate? Those are all terrible examples. Not one of those blokes performed even adequately in under 20s. Moga scored something like 21 tries in 14 games. I would hazard a guess that you did not see anything of these guys play 20s, Moga included. If you had you would see that he is in another league.

I agree with most that his on line defence last year left a lot to be desired but it is ridiculous to basically write off a 19 year old because his attitude in defence was not up to scratch in his first year of league. I'm a big believer that the right motivation can improve a young player's attitude immensely. Last year Brian Smith had bigger expectations of him than most on this forum and didn't hold back from letting Tau know that. You could tell that he was expected to dominate in attack when the structures were not in place for that to happen. It was terrible coaching all season. I can barely remember him getting the ball inside the oppositions 10m. The frustration that caused reflected poorly in his defensive mindset. By the time he returns he will be a year older, better defensive and hopefully offensive structures will be in place and we will see examples of his raw talent far more frequently. He has the potential to be a far better player than SKD in every aspect I believe, so I really do hope we can find room for him come the end of 2014. If I was a betting man I'd wager that 2014 will be SBW's last year with us so I think thats where the cap space will come from.

                              Hi Yak,

I was referring to the outrageous hype that followed these players. TauTau Moga is being referred to amongst our Chook Pen peers as the next Greg Inglis which is awful. I watch enough of the two Sydney Roosters teams and the Newtown Jets to know that TauTau has a long way to go before he is in position to make any sort of demands. He is far too young and unproven to spoken about in the same breath as proven Rugby League stars. I do not think it is much to ask for these players to earn their respect and position within the team.

                              PS.

I vividly remember TauTau Moga costing our NYC Toyota Cup team a victory by refusing to pass the ball to an unmarked support player after making a break from a scrum.

Justin Carney was a great Toyota Cup player as well.

Have a nice day, even if you are a prick.

If that's the case then I don't see how you could compare him to those other players mentioned. Its a poor comparison to get your point about first earning respect across (which is valid), just like the Inglis comparison is a poor one to make at this stage. The game you're alluding to was last year against the Warriors in his first game back from the ankle injury that kept him out of first grade to start the season (probably). If you saw the whole game and not just the last 5 minutes then you'd know that Moga was the only reason we were even in the game at that stage. He'd already created two tries down the left from long range. And Justin carney was actually a good NRL player before breaking his leg, and for all anyone knows the same thing could happen with Moga, but I don't see how anyone could say he would be lucky to get a contract extension when the kid has only played half a season as an 18 year old in a very poor side.

                                Same to you.
