Yeh in the past few years we've covered; Salary cap rorting, player match fixing & now potentially performance enhancing.

To say that questioning referees is losing a grip on reality is a little ironic. Reality is Refs are people too, they're just as susceptible to making poor decisions like the players, administrators and coaches of our game have done in the past.
I would say a referee is more susceptible, because imo, they could do with the extra cash more than a player on 300/400k a year.

Do you think that is why beetroot face is showing a bit of sympathy to the player group in his article this morning and calling for an amnesty seeing this may affect two of his stars? Actually the difference between a topt 4 and bottom 4 finish for his team.

It's a shame that he didn't show the same sympathy when Toddy was having a drink with some mates. Karma, what goes around, call it what you want.

          maybe

Maybe also though, given that it might be very hard to make these charges stick, maybe he's of the view that at least if some of them come forward, we won't have an armstrong like situation dragging on for years

I'd also hope that his love of the game in general would outweigh getting a better deal just for his team

He doesn't love the game... he thrives on selling papers via making the game burn. He prioritises his Sharks agenda over anything else.

I disagree with your first sentence. I think he does genuinely love the game BUT he genuinely HATES Easts / Politis as well and he lets that bias infiltrate his 'journalism'. Lets just say if the only evidence this report was pointing to was something involving the Roosters and no other NRL club, he'd be out there furiously digging for the dirt and demanding lifelong bans for players / administrators etc found guilty and NOT asking for an amnesty.

                  • And it's all been going on under the ever vigilant eyes of the NRL whilst News Ltd apportion all the blame to individual players, coaches, clubs and assorted criminals and and the scandalous behaviour has been alive and thriving for years.

where are all the muppets that claimed paranoia? I been watching footy for almost 40yrs and in the last 6-8 yrs in my opinion teams have been getting a leg up. How simple is it 50/50 calls you get possesion and kick for 35m and a set of six, u cop a few of these and its stacked in ur favour. Why do the storm always get the 50/50 calls and nothing done in the ruck, smith does what he likes! The broncos for yrs have been getting the 50/50 calls.

The tigers v warriors semi for the GF watch that game and see if it wasnt reffed for the tigers to get through! The last 20min was the warriors V tigers and the ref. Even the 2010 try against up is the biggest rort, I was sitting in the nose bleed seats about 20km away and I was waiting the scrum.

yeah anyone who employs palmer has no chance of being a drug cheat, he's old school- situps, pushups and pasta meals before a match, might set your club back 20yrs though.
