My old Man grew up in Pootown, played for them and supported then they booted his club, what should he do???

You have to remember The Wankos didn't come in till 88. Many of our fans were around supporting Easts from QLD well before that.

I admit QLDanders are punishment but those that go for Easts are OK.

This game is good to get injured. Whats the point of going all out just to cop a season ending injury? Put things in perspective please.

I recall as a player the theory was always to go flat out cos there is more risk of an injury playing 1/2 paced or trying to preserve yourself. Especially in trials etc.

Sure you don't play massive minutes that early in the season, hence the extra reserves and interchanges, but while you are out there you don't hold back.

Maybe that theory isn't in vogue these days???

It sure didn't look like the indigie boys held back.

Yeah but does it mean the same to everyone that plays? SKD might have like the chance but at the end of the day, it's a nothing game. You can get hurt playing hard or playing soft. Injury doesn't discriminate. Even these trial games are a worry. Bring on the real stuff IMO.

i grew up in north rocks, and red, white and blue runs in the family.
im the first generation in my family to have not grown up the eastern suburbs.

The actual match wasn’t my best performance, but i was happy with myself when i had ball in hand and a little bit down on my defence from the night. It was a tough match, and they played really well but it would’ve been much nicer to celebrate what was a great week with a win.
I’ve got myself a tape of the game and am going to sit down and watch it with Robbo [Trent Robinson] this week, so he can show me what he thinks and we can make sure I’m always improving and working out the little kinks before the season kicks off.

he's such an odd player is SKD. When I was watching him the other night trying to figure him out the word that came to mind was "clumsy"

His dummy half runs can only be effective when he initially angles right, because he's totally addicted to that right foot step, even to the point where he uses it when running right to left and starts heading backwards

One thing he doesn't seem to do is get himself into position to contribute to a play. It's no good always waiting out in the backline for the ball to make it out to him. He seems to lack the smarts to position himself 2 or 3 passes wide and try and run a play with someone, maybe with the fullback. He seems entirely reliant on having others present him with opportunities.

I just wish he'd do a bit more.

Start tackling properly SKD and things may start to turn around for you. For the last couple of years, it seems that he is scared to commit to a tackle in case he misses. Rip in. You are big enough to make an impact in defense, but he seems a little reluctant, although some may say he just has no idea how to tackle.

It looked worse for SKD than it was. The muppet on the outside was woeful, and a couple of times Thurston was already through the line.

i think he needs some time tackling on the beach, slow runners he can go in hard and drive, hes got the body, use it!
