The Sydney Roosters have today announced that Anthony Cherrington has been granted an immediate release from his contract to join the Penrith Panthers.
Sydney Roosters Chief Operating Officer Football, Brian Canavan, said: “The club has invested a lot of energy into Anthony following a lengthy period of repeated injuries and it is with sadness that we see him go, but we feel that this move will reinvigorate him as he attempts to find his way back to the NRL.
“We thank Anthony for his contribution to the club – especially throughout the community over the last couple of years – and he leaves with our very best wishes for the future.”

After multiple concussions due to his uncompromising tackle technique Dane Atkinson took a year off to clear his head and is back in great health and in England at the present. I spoke to his uncle and he has been traveling, he's in great nick and considering his playing options. His physical stats are 6'4 and 110 kg with ball skills to burn. One of the best defenders getting around, but needs to adjust his tackle technique and show some self preservation if he comes back into the game. He shot gunned Blair's defensive edge right through junior reps and 20's. Parra and Cheyse could well do with Dane right now.
