On a less annoyed note, while we're on the topic of talented backrowers, can anyone update on how Dane Atkinson is doing? He was hit by an illness last pre season and haven't heard much about him since. Some good judges rated him better than Cordner. Better defender imo, and an excellent hole runner. It would be horrible if this illness has cost him what I feel would've been an excellent career. Gman, I feel like you'd have something for me.

At the fan day prior to Xmas when the boys where doing defensive drills he went down and you could hear the boys telling him to effing get up as he limped away not too many comforted him so from an outsider looking in they obviously think he's soft such a shame cause he was destined to be a superstar.

just had a surf around the riff forum and there is no hints that cherro is going there , as there are guys the 'who are in the know''.
there is one guy that seems quiet clued up so i pinched his rap on each teams pros and cons and their finishing place at the seasons end--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Always a tough task. Will have a crack. Will ignore trials coming up as they are always a tease.
1. NQ Cowboys - Just think it might be their time. Lots of classy players that were close to the mark last season. Close many times before, might be now or never. I think they can do it. Thurston is still world class and up front they look great. GF Winners for me with Thurston in charge.
2. Melbourne Storm - Most consistent team for near on a decade. Whilst the spine is in tact they are all winners and know how to grind out results. Grand Final threat again think they fall short because maybe not quite as hungry you can only climb the mountain so many times
3. South Sydney Rabbitohs - Again I think it could be there time. Very strong up front probably the best and most intimidating pack in the comp. With some class in the halves and at the back. They are a grand final threat and i think they will play the Cows in the big one.
4. Canterbury Bulldogs - Don't think there a brilliant side, however they are very well coached and Hasler's team are always tough and winning sides. Think they might slip a peg or two with Keating not a match winner and Ennis only average. However they will be there when the whips are cracking
5. Sydney Roosters - This is my team im predicting to fire this year. A typical yo-yo team that often has a year or two in the wilderness, then springs to life from no where. If they are happy they play well. SBW, Maloney, Jennings and Pearce, there is a huge amount of strike there. If the rookie coach keeps the egos in check they could go far.
6. Newcastle Knights - 2nd year under Bennett. They looked to be starting to get their act together late last year. Decent roster, Gidley back. I think they will be much tougher. Don't think they can win the thing howeber i expect to see much better all round performances
7. Manly Sea Eagles - Got my doubts about them this year. However still some very, very classy players. They are winners at Manly so i wouldn't rule out another GF charge. Just think they are getting older and lack the depth they used to have. On paper close to the best starting 13 in the comp, think the older guys might suffer injuries and not to the distance.
8. Wests Tigers - Hard team to get a read on. Still a decent roster. Twice in the Top 4 in last 3 years, terrible last year. Less expectation, New coach a good combination. Senior players having a full pre season. Will surprise, however lack the depth in the forwards and experience at 7 to be a main contender. Some very, very good young players, more a threat in 2014 if they get their act together. Too often a soft side with little grit and winning mentality under Sheens
--------------------------
9. Canberra Raiders - When people think they will do well they often let people down. Their rosters looks decent. However like teams like the Tigers and Warriors they are flaky and yo-yo from year to year. Not sure under Furner things will change too much in that regard. Can beat anyone on their day or get rolled at home by the team coming last. No idea where they will finish to be honest.
10. Brisbane Broncos – Again tough to get a read on them. Prince was a great footballer, however has looked past his best of late. Lots of young talent, however they looked lost and devoid of ideas at times last year. Not the force they once were for mine.
11. Cronulla Sharks – These guys are my pick to fall flat. Its just a gut feeling. There is always one or two sides that fall from grace which are expected to have big years. I just think some of their signings are over rated and they will struggle. Again I can understand most people putting them in for a bumper year I just don’t see it.
12.Parramatta Eels – Stuart is a proud coach and is sure to improve the discipline and the work rate at Parra. I think they will be very competitive and might start the season well. However outside of Hayne and Sandow they lack threat all over the park, their roster is ordinary.
13. - Gold Coast Titans – I just think this club is a bit of a mess. The whole Prince thing was handled poorly. There just seem to be things happening up there that disrupt the footy side. Have some decent players but can’t see unproven halves carrying them out of the bottom 4
14 -Penrith Panthers – I like Penrith and hope they surprise. Have signed some a lot of half decent players and might click into a decent outfit. I think they will surprise some and stay off the bottom. I think they are gearing up more for 2014-
15. - NZ Warriors – These guys again are very hard to read. Were disgustingly bad at the back end of last year and have lost some decent clubman. Elliott on the suface of it looks a bizarre choice as coach. Nothing would surprise me with these guys, they could come out and make the Top 4, however I can’t pick them there on form.
16. ST George Illawarra Dragons – Wow, this sides looks pretty ordinary on paper. For such a big club I am very surprised they have not recruited anyone of note. No confidence being shown in the coach. The were ordinary last year and they have lost a lot of experience. Their spine looks pedestrian. Probably too proud to finish last however someone has to!

Why would he be saying that he will be gone as soon as today, but still be 50/50 on where he is going? I also don't get that he's been named to play against Manly on Saturday??? Why waste a trial spot for someone who's so close to leaving???...

I just read that (DT website is the source) Yileen Gordon has been stood down indefinetly after a hit and run accident. It has been alleged that Buddy was driving while disqualified and hit a parked car. The vehicle he was driving apparently belongs to lower grader Brendon Gibb who has been released to return to QLD. Nafe Seluini was also in the car and was cautioned.
It claims that police may lay charges against Gordon.1911 1912 1913 1923 1935 1936 1937 1940 1945 1974 1975 2002 2013 2018 2019 2020
