  • What is the fascination with Bosden? I've never seen him do anything special, and neither have the previous two clubs that released him!

I remember hearing before he came to our joint, that Wayne "handshake" Bennett was chasing him for his signature. He has been a standout for Newtown when he got the chance to play for them. From memory, he only played one NRL game in Darwin and another in Sydney and in those two games he was given limited opportunities to play well. Against the tigpies in the foundation cup match he was a standout. I remember watching that game and thinking that he would kill it in 2012.

He is definitely a talented player headless. He has been unlucky with injuries the last couple of years.
I thought in his limited time in FG he was very impressive. I think a backrow of Bosden, Cordner and SBW if all fit is our best combo. He is tough,He hits hard in defence, runs good lines and his a little ball playing ability too. That's just my opinion though

        • with all these players being released i wonder if any more are to go before we play that team with the worst jersey and colours in the comp

          • Bosden couldn't show his worth in FG because Smith keep picking the same team each week.

              Agree 100%.
How Arona got to play so many games is a mystery. I don't think he is rubbish but i think Bosden had more to offer

Strongly agree. Unless injury plays a part he is unlikely to get a run for Roosters this year.

                  • Arona kept playing to the peak of his abilities, you can't fault his effort. 100% all game. You need players like that in the forwards.. They can't all be brilliant.

Arona had his moments last year for sure and I agree he gave it everything he had but I think Bosden has more to offer and would have done a better job then what Arona did on the paddock that's all.

                      • I still remember last yr when we played bullduds at the belmore trial,
Bosden was our best forward on ground & was surprised at his offloading ability
I know it was only a trial but still thats what there for so u can see these things

THE Sydney Roosters have pulled off a coup in signing boom Dragons rookie Jack Bosden on a two-year-deal.
Bosden has been earmarked as a future representative player by experts, and was being lured to Newcastle by outgoing Dragons coach Wayne Bennett, but has opted to relocate to Bondi Junction. The 22-year-old back-rower is seen as an ideal replacement for retired utility Daniel Conn (neck), and Roosters officials hope he will develop into a player like Gold Coast-bound Maroons forward Nate Myles, who can play at prop or in the back row.
"We've had a couple of dabbles at him before, actually,'' Roosters recruitment manager Peter O'Sullivan said. ''I had a good rap on him when he was at Cronulla as a junior, and we tried to get him here when he ended up going to Saints. It took a while, but we finally got our man.

''He's come here for a good opportunity because he's stuck behind two Origin back-rowers at Saints, and when they're not playing, Dean Young is usually used on the edge. So his chances are a bit limited there. He's got great skill and a great attitude, and we look forward to watching him play for the Roosters.
"He'll probably fill that Daniel Conn role to start with because there's a fair bit of disparity between Nate Myles's record and Jack's. But he can play a lot of lock for us and add a bit of skill and an offload."
While the Roosters will have to wait until next season to benefit from Bosden's services, they're hopeful Aboriginal All Stars and Eels hooker Anthony Mitchell will join the club as early as next week. The livewire dummy-half has agreed terms, and the injury-plagued Roosters are waiting on NRL and Eels approval. "We still have a little bit of to-and-fro to go in terms of the NRL and Parramatta,'' O'Sullivan said. ''We've got no players. We need him. We only had 14 blokes at training on Thursday.''

Big motor...good defender...talented with ball in hand too...real footballer not an athlete trying to be one...I could see him playing 80 if required...every team needs a forward like him in the squad.

See that's just the thing...I keep reading all these comments such as 'good with the ball' etc, but in his time in the NRL I haven't seen any of that. He's been an average footballer in my view. Would be happy for him to prove me wrong, but won't hold my breath waiting.

Guerra is so far in front of Bosden as a player that little Jack would need a pair of binocular's to see him.
