Langi has absolutely no experience in First Grade and hasn't even put together a good season in the 20's yet.

So that leaves us with; LOD, Arona, Bosden, Guerra, Aubbo, Boyd, FPN & SBW.

To me it just seems a little light, especially with quite a few players who are prone to injury there. 8 is the bare minimum most teams should have imo. Wouldn't surprise me at all if LOD played in the front row either.

I'd like to think we'd hold onto Symonds.
To me 8 backrowers is plenty given you usually use 3 or 4 a game max.. This does not even count any of the youngsters at the club. I can hardly see the 9th or 10th ranked backrowers at the club being required on heavily.. Given a guy like Tom Symonds was probably on more than $150K a season you can hardly blame the club for releasing him when there are 8 others who can do his job.

Tago can and has played back row too.

Also, people say we need to give these guys time to develop. Tom is 24 and Cherro is about to turn 25. jeeeeez

I think you are totally on the money Rooster Booster. These guys have had chances and there are no more chances for them to be had. People say LOD is injury prone but compared to Cherrington and Symonds he is an ironman of the sport.

Make it 7 now, Bosden has done his shoulder.

Problem is I dont think we have that many good younsgters who are ready to make the step up. If Boyd was still in the 20's for example Id agree with you.

Tago is a front rower everyday of the week... have you watched him recently?

Im not saying keep giving them a chance Im saying hold onto one atleast one for depth.

I think JWH could be a very good backrower. If we have a fit and firing Kennedy, Tasi & Moa, plus one of Evans & Ailomai, then JWH could easily fit into the backrow. He, FPN and LOD could all play either front or backrow at a pinch.

Good point.. Not sure he will get too many opportunities to play there. Tasi is currently out and Evans carrying some niggles too.

I am sure you would have been at Gosford last Saturday. Whilst it was a trial both Langi and Lui really shone in their limited opportunities. I think each would be a chance at getting a run this year at some stage. Sure they are inexperienced but players have to start somewhere. Certainly Lui seems physically ready.

Symonds leaving does not worry me as I think Jack Siejka, Rhys Martin or Jack Noble could step up and do a good job.

Symonds is quality....talent wise, he has more than your average back rower.

Agrees that injuries are a concern, but sometimes certain players are worth persisting with...All he needs is some luck with injury and some confidence and he WILL become a vital cog teriyaki boy.

I would be sad to see him go...ask Freddy and Joey where they think his talent could take him...

tbj I grew up playing with and against cherro and tom....I never saw it. Tom was a classic clubsman worked harder than everyone else but the talent wasnt there. Cherro got hit and stayed down. They have been given so many opportunities and had setback after setback. Maybe all they need is new scenery.

Your not the first person to say Cherro is a bit soft. I think the coaching staff have there squad and these blokes just were not seen in the big picture. I agree with you on Symmonds though. While he is a reliable footy player and no doubt has talent, I can't see him even featuring in first grade this year unless at least 4 back rowers are injured.
I trust the judgement of the coaching staff and whether it be attitude, seeking oppurtunity Orfords cap reason, the club wouldn't let these blokes go if they where going to be of some value this year
