Umanimous! Yep, 37 years of following the Roosters year in year out. This is definately the lowest season that I have ever witnessed with Easts. The worst coach closely followed by the worst team..never thought I would see the day that this great club would sink so low. But, there is hope on the horizon with a new coach and the big changes that he will hopefully bring in 2010.

These "young kids" are the reason we are coming last.

These young kids have been thrown in too early and there's too many of them in the one team. O'Sullivan will fix this up though, the only way is up from here.

I'm so scarred from the late 80's early 90's, 1 yr of poo isn't hurting that much, at this stage...
With the level of professionalism these days, if you're not prepared correctly at the start, and ongoing, you're stuffed.
Our slow play the ball tells me there has been seriously something wrong with our preparation this yr.

With the introduction of the two referees, I just don't think our team was made for it to be honest. If you think about it, our current squad was put together with the game still having one referee. Now all of a sudden, we have two referees and the game speeds up even more. I guess we couldn't do anything about it because of the late rule change but I'd expect us to adapt much better next year. I think our coaching staff underestimated the impact the two referees would have on the game the same structures we're still in place from last season. It takes a good pre-season to get the gameplan down pat. We were on the backfoot from the get-go I guess. We should have seen this coming once the new rule came in.

But then Anderson tried a giant pack in 2007 (I recall our Rd 1 bench being Myles, L Paea, M Paea, Tonga) and that didn't work either.

Myles, Paea, Nuuausala and either Waerea-Hargreaves or Waqa should be the four props selected.

A well-balanced side is the key. We simply can not have a team full of speed and no muscle upfront or vice versa. There has to be a balance with a few hard toilers, some speed across the paddock, halves with a bit of vision and consistency about them and some good strong boys upfront to lay down a challenge to the opposition.

Given two facts this is the worst ever performing side I have witnessed in my 37 years of following the Roosters.

1 - The quality of footy being played this year is sub-standard. The Dragons leading the comp with Soward and the dogs coming second with Kimmorley? Manly have been up and down, the Storm, Broncos all playing like busted arses at times. It wasn't that long ago all and sundry were claiming the Eels were gone and Sheens was a crap coach. This years comp will be won by a mediocre team with cast offs in key positions.

2 - The calibre of players we have in the current Roosters team = 7 Internationals and 7 SOO players.

Running last with that many internationals and SOO players demonstrates that this is without a doubt the most hopeless, useless, group of half-hearted hacks ever to wear the mighty Red, White and Blue.

That being said, it's not entirely the fault of the players, our infamous coach needs to be nailed to the wall beside the players. The club has ended up in this position (with a shit coach) due to being farked over by Bennett. That two-faced, lying, back stabbing, deceitful, double-dealing karnt cannot be blamed enough for our current state.

Bring on 2010, it can't be any worse than this.

Did Bennett **** us over? ****ing oath. Were we stupid in not obtaining his signature on paper? Absolutely.

This club's naivity and stupidity, across the board from the Chair to the cleaner, has earnt its current place.

I disagree with the two reff theory footy. I am yet to see where it offers any real changes to the way the games played, other than maybe confusing fans and players at times with two different interpretations.

All teams have had the same time to prepare, the same time to recruit etc. Most sides have adapted with what they have on their books, we are a mile behind everyone.

Its our defence which is attitude. We are physically and mentally that far behind the rest its not funny. As Chook said we have a shit load of players whove played rep footy, yet we cant compete at club level for a 1/2 of footy.

Our blokes look and play soft. We need to harden the fark up. As Chook also said the quality of footy this seasons been pretty ordinary. Fitness and attitude has been all its taken so far to be competitive. The side that can defend their arses off and then take their chances with the pill wins. Discipline and a good whack of penalties sure helps.

Thats just my opinion though.

They may not be the worst football team we've fielded but there are far and away the most disinterested, passionless bunch of bumblers we've ever seen.

To those who are old enough to remember the transit lounge days of mid 80s to early 90s, can you recollect whether this year's team is the worst we've ever witnessed, or did we have a worse combinations back then?

Personally after 35 seasons of watching footy, I have to say this is the worst I have seen a team perform on a consistent basis, especially considering the talent available. They look disinterested and very lacklustre.Have some fkn pride in the RWB jumper you bastards.

What hurts most is that opposition teams don't look like they're doing anything crash hot, it's just our pathetic efforts that is gifting them opportunities and points.

I have never felt so much disappojntment after having so many high hopes every week. I look at our playing roster, and it's at least equal if not superior to other teams. We have talented youngsters. We have experienced old heads. What we have is a novice coach who has had things always come easy on the field, and is unable to transfer that talent as a coach.

I like Fittler, and I maintain that he would have won us a minimum of ONE more premiership if Finch wasn't anointed as king by Stuart , but enough is enough! It's time to go and serve your apprenticeship somewhere else, and we thank you for the memories of your playing days. Your semi Vs the Knights will always live in my memory, and your 40-20 in the '02 GF will be remembered till the day I'm 6 feet under.

I have been following as long as you but this is the first spoon.

Followed the Chooks since 1975.......even in the early 90's they at least seemed to have a dig. We certainly didn't have the supposed talent we do in this lot.

This is the worst team I have ever witnessed. They just don't seem to care with 1 or 2 exceptions and I just pray they get together this week and decide to have a real go to send Fitzy out a winner as he deserves it.

Thank god there is only 1 more game left this year!
