  • Brian Smith & 2012

As they say everything happens for a reason, but was thinking the other day if we win those close games last year,
V dragaons (ANZAC day) , Souffs (rd2) , Warriors (in NZ) etc and snuck into the 8 and got knocked out say week 2 of the finals do you think the club would of kept Smith & co for 2013 and beyond...........

    No point looking backwards Woodster.

Even if we did make the finals series the club would of made changes as it was quite clear the players weren't fully responding to Brian Smith's coaching anymore.

He did a fantastic job clearing out the decks and getting us into the Grand Final in 2010 but the major fall from grace in '11 & 12 were enough to warrant his termination as head coach.

We made the semis in 2001, and Graham Murray was axed for 2002 !

I don't think he was sacked bassed on results. Anyone who was honest to themselves knew we were always going to struggle after losing Carney, Myles and Ryles without replacing any them.

It was the dissatisfaction of the players that got him sacked. So yes I think he'd still be gone.

The players wanted Robbo and none other and that's why we finished 13th. We were never going to win the close ones because the players didn't want to win.

            Moot question.

            Chook.
