  • Rothfield sticks it to Roosters again.

FORMER Great Britain halfback Bobbie Goulding has confirmed one of league's worst-kept secrets - that the Roosters once paid players cash in brown paper bags. And he's gone a step further, claiming he received cash from legendary Roosters coach, the late Jack Gibson in 1991. "Jack used to meet me in a silver 4WD in Randwick and give me my wages in a brown paper bag," Goulding told Rugby League Week.

The irony is the Roosters still employ recruitment boss Peter O'Sullivan, who was in the thick of the Melbourne Storm salary-cap scandal.

And the other worst kept secret is that the Roosters weren't alone but that seemingly isn't worth printing as it doesn't further slothfill's agenda.

Did Bobbie Goulding play with us in 1991?
He is not on any club lists as playing, and he has not been given a player number...

Slanderous and defamatory, big Jack isn't here to defend himself, and Goulding could be telling porkies.

Goulding trashed his accommodation before he went back to England. Did he even play a game? He certainly didn't make an impression on the field. Maybe there was soap in the paper bag?

What a joke that article is. Twenty-two years ago?? Is that the best he can do?? Notice he doesn't leave room for comments at the bottom of his article! I wonder why! Bobby Goulding has a long track record of drunkenness, off-field violence and bizarre behaviour. He couldn't make the grade at Easts and had his contract torn up after he allegedly trashed a hotel room. Maybe he's still got an axe to grind after all these years. Has Rothfield EVER written about the large number of quality players the Roosters have had to let go because of the salary cap? You'd think he would at least be grateful to the Roosters for giving his trophy-less team the best five-eighth in the game.

                            This.
It's scientifically impossible for Easts to be in Souths' shadow when there's daylight between them and us.
