Is "sheep" the latest comeback for the SKD supporters?

It isn't just the one trial. It's 100+ games. People have short memories.

First it was he was playing out of position, then it was he is still young and he has to learn his trade, then it was bad coaching, then it was the players around him not giving him decent ball. Now it is only trials. Five years of excuses. Nothing to do with sheep.

Inglis made him his bitch yet again in the All Stars. Yeah yeah Inglis make plenty his bitch but the idiot still shirt grabs like many under 12 players do but many of those boys will learn how to freaken tackle by the time they play Harold Matts. SKD will never learn it now. Hopefully he will be a Warrior in 2014.

Edit: you're a faster typer than me BigMike. Bloody ipads

how could a guy that plays 80 mins a game and avg 45 tackles a game be unfit????

        Wow, wow, wow.

This isn't a thread about SKD's career, it's purely based on last night and the unwarranted criticism over his performance last night.

Sorry I went slightly off track. It must be the first thread this has happened.

Yeh, there's a big difference between playing too heavy which could be a fair assertion of Friend last year and not being fit.

Off track is fine, that's not the problem. The problem is you're taking comments out of context.

The sheep comments (not mine) are directed at those who attacked him on his performance last night. Not those who have genuine arguments about his ability, or lack of like yourself & BigMike.

All I got was a dropped ball which probably would have led to a try and a missed tackle on the Fijian winger which was always going to be a tough ask given he was coming from behind and to the side of the player. Thought he was his usual energetic self out of dummy half, and looked reasonably strong with the ball in hand given his limited opportunities. He wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but I've seen heaps of players have worse games then his last night. Its interesting that there so many people ready to run him down, and so many more ready to make excuses for any mistake Oldfield makes.
you must have missed his usual "michael hancock" crab like run he did. run straight ffs you peanut

I thought this thread was solely about SKD's performance last night.

I've always maintained the Kenny Dowall's defence is woeful, even in 2010 when everyone was wrapping him I was very critical. I was also very critical of his Allstars perfroamnce, this isn't a player I defend to the hills or anything like you seem to be suggesting. I'm just not a fan of the witch hunt, he wasn't as bad as a lot are making out yesterday.
Not much went his way but guys like him are paid big money to get the basics right and he showed nothing to give anyone any indication that the poor performance in the Allstars game was a one off or he may be getting back to his 2010 form.

The one clear cut opportunity he had which only required him to catch the ball 2 metres from the line with no one near him and he didn't take it.
If it was an isolated incident for a guy who had been playing well in recent years, no one would care but it is just a continuation of what he has dished up for a long time. The tigers scored in the next set which highlights how costly it could be in a close match. He is lucky Moga is injured or he might not have been a certain selection going forward.

If thats the worst things he does in a game, then I will be happy.

Unfit meaning he had no juice in the tank to run the ball, was forced to give away too many penalties for holding down in the ruck and being unable to give quick service.
                        ...

I dont think he was bad last night but average isnt good enough for the games under his belt and the pay packet. I must say he was a passenger in the all stars and needs to fire this yr.

nailed it. although I wouldn't say skd would be shipped off to another club after his contract expires, I hope we resign him, but maybe for half of what he is currently on. imo

He needs to get on the EPO or the clear & do the blood transfusion before the games. I think thats legal it's only illegal if you get caught.

First it was that SKD wasn't experienced.

Then it was that he wasnt a winger.

Now it's that he hasnt had good support. (I don't know how that affects his defence or handling but whatever).

Face the facts - SKD is on money that is close to a marqee player - and his returns, barring that one magic season have been minimal. Please note that he conceded as many as he scored even then.

Please outline the case for SKD beside the fact that he can find the line. I am more than certain that I can put up a stronger case as to how many points he costs us both in attack and defence
skd is on 350k a season. not really that much these days, he will be the clubs highest tryscorer once his contract is up, i dont mind that price for a future club record holder.
