It did come out a bit OTT didn't it, my apologies it wasn't my intention, just a bit rushed. But it does appear at times to me that there's alot of people complaining about CH9 or FOX, but the fact is that they've just pumped $1b into the game & my point was that it doesn't come without a cost. Personally I love the fact that I'll have footy on my telly from Thursday to Monday (mind you my wife is not so keen on this), the only thing that would make me happier is if they had a mid-week comp to be played on Tues & Weds nights too!!

Good luck driving out of the city, then driving back to the city, then leaving again. Most people wake up around 6am to go to work the next day, people are not going to sacrifice work for a footy game.
I sacrifice work for a paper cut....

Lol yep and he may need an extra strong latte in the morning mate.

Horry posted the club has said they only have 9000 seats left. That's more than a week before the game. Kinda blows the whole sleepy head theory away.

Dang I don't recall ever sleeping Thursday nights. After school or work we'd go to footy training then either out to a club or a poker night with the boys then home for a quick shower before school or work Friday. It was a given the weekend started on a Thursday.

What's wrong with the youth of today.

It's embarressing the amount of times I use to go for a couple of 'quiet ones' on a Thursday night and end up rolling up to work at 6 on the Friday, straight from the pub in the same gear as the day before.

            Ahhh.... Good times

This will be our biggest regular season crowd of all time, as well as our biggest televised audience outside of finals appearances. So clearly there will be enough people willing to be a little tired for work on friday for it not to matter.

We could very well have 3 x 40,000 home games this season (souffs, dogs, Saints on ANZAC day)

I recall working in Broardway in my early 20s and pulled allnighters basically every Thursday, most other days also if the truth be known.

Getting off the train and having to pass the brewery (gone now) with thick black sludge running down the road and still pissed myself was not the best fun a person could have, kinda ruined my day. So I'd buy a chicken schnitzel across from the train station and hold it to my nose and bolt down the street. Must've been a funny sight, thank fark there were no camera phones those days.

Saved me dry reaching all the way to work and made a nice hearty brekkie when I arrived at work.

Every time I get down that way I smile as I pass the area. The things we do.

I've had the good fortune of meeting TLR mate, he's a smooth mo-fo. Good with the ladies and polite aswell.

                          I'm thinking of swapping sides.

I get up at 5am for my job and I booked annual leave for the Friday as soon as this game was announced. I knew I wouldn't be productive at work the next day win, lose or draw after such a late night. I'm happy to give up an annual leave day to relax and enjoy the evening without worrying about work the next day.

Not to bad for a team with supposedly very few supporters.
