  • Roosters Thursday Night Match?

Forgive my ignorance, but could someone explain to me why we are playing on a Thursday & not a Friday night?
Being a working day with work on the following day, I cannot imagine it will yield as big a crowd as a Friday. Just seems like a stupid move.

Maybe is, but I cannot imagine as many people going to the game as a Friday.

It's not just round 1. First four rounds have a Thursday night game. Was part if the new tv rights deal. Its about ratings, not crowds.

yeah pretty much majority of people work like 9am-5pm...8am-4pm...7am-3pm ....thats why afternoon workers and night workers get paid more, because they sacrifice stuff like this

Good luck driving out of the city, then driving back to the city, then leaving again. Most people wake up around 6am to go to work the next day, people are not going to sacrifice work for a footy game.

Its about pleasing the majority, thought it was pretty obvious that the majority of Australians do NOT work on weekends

Maybe because we are special, a special player will make his return and we're competing with late night shopping. It's a no brainer. Unfortunately I have to run my business that night so I'll be keeping my eye on the net to find out the score. GO YOU CHOOKS!!!!!
