IF you want a gauge of how much has changed at the Sydney Roosters under the guard of new coach Trent Robinson, pop into their Moore Park office of a morning.

At least twice a week a mobile catering van parks outside the club's headquarters, and like clockwork the players stream out of the building to get a plate of the organic breakfast on offer that day.

It is no secret the Roosters have made significant changes to their diet over the offseason, but it is the manner in which they eat their meals that provides the greatest insight into the mindset of the NRL's newest coach.

In an effort to boost team morale and rebuild what appeared a fractured football club at the end of last year, Robinson has encouraged his troops to share at least two meals together a week.

When you talk to any of the players at the Bondi club they will tell you the culture at the club has changed under Robinson.

The breakfast bonding sessions are just one of several initiatives the former Les Catalans coach has implemented in his short time at the tri-colours.

''It gives us the chance to all sit down together and have something to eat,'' back-rower Mitchell Aubusson said.

''That was Robbo and probably BC [chief operating officer Brian Canavan] who threw up the idea about all catching up together.

''Robbo is big on eating together coming from a French background. I think they love eating together over there. He's big on us doing it and it's worked well so far for us.''

His enthusiasm and his ability to connect with the younger players in the side is one of the 35-year-old's strongest assets as a coach.

Robinson has won over his players with his knowledge of the game.

''He's a really, really smart coach,'' prop Martin Kennedy said.

''He's firmly got all the respect of the boys here. All the boys want to play for him. It's been a great preseason and we've come out with a really positive vibe. There's a really good culture at the club.

''He's always been big on the culture side of things, especially with all the changes we've had over here this year. It's something that we've really had to look after, but it's been such a seamless transition with the new players coming in. They've complemented the side really well.''

New recruit Michael Jennings said he has benefited from the coaching and administration at the Roosters in his brief time at the club.

''Yeah, definitely - I haven't been so clear-minded for a while,'' Jennings said.

'' I'm loving it at the moment. All I can do is play happy. And hopefully I can play my best footy here.''

This is only the begging of media this year. Heavy media!!! It's either going to be 'the rise of the Roosters star' if we are performing or death riding headlines of 'big spending roosters fail to inspire' type crap, and on a large scale.

The good thing is that our players should be well used to it, especially our targets of the media (SBW, Pearce, Jennings, Mini) and I think Brian Canavan would have his finger on pulse with Robbo monitoring all this.

On the content of the story-sounds good to me. Nothing like breaking bread with your mates.m

I like what I am hearing.
Compare it with previous seasons. Would we rather go back to that?
We will never stop the media microscope so try to use it to our advantage.

          Maybe invite Phil for breakfast?

The SMH usually has good articles about us. Nothing wrong with media fluff stories before the season kicks off.
