Everyone on here is so critical of mini. Other than slater Barba Bowen and inglis who is better than him? Dugan Boyd gidley hayne??? These guys have good games every now and then but they have injury problems attitude problems and are prone to making mistakes. Mini is solid. His positional play is perfect and his only negative is that he try's to hard because anasta did sweet **** all and he had to take pressure of Pearce. When we had carney he played a totally different role and killed. Expect him to so the same this year.....

I didn't think he was that bad last year either.

Apart from the odd howler last year, he wasn't 'bad'.

It's just that full back play has evolved over the last couple of years and Mini hasn't evolved with it. There's more to it than defusing bombs these days.

Nah I disagree, Mini in his prime was an excellent kick returner, his ability to change the momentum of the game with his typical tackle busting kick returns was not just a huge plus for us, he replicated at the highest levels of the game for NSW & Australia, he truly was one of the best. It has more to do with the fact that as a player he has deteriorated. There's still a place for ball running fullbacks in the modern day game, he just isn't good enough anymore though.

These days he's a momentum changer for the opposition, not us. It was still evident in the Foundation Cup when he got caught in goal on the back of a 60m kick from Robbie Farah. It's just unforgivable..

Stephen Hawking has more chance of busting a tackle than Mini these days.

Also that moment in the Foundation Cup changed the whole first half.

I will give you Gordon and Locke on their good days but when they are not injured on an average day they are exactly that. Average.

I expect him to make more kick return yards and tackle busts this year...if he doesn't we could see the rts switch to FB happen mid year.

I will give you Gordon and Locke on their good days but when they are not injured on an average day they are exactly that. Average.

Every game Gordon has filled in at FB he has been one of the most damaging in the NRL, but no one would know that because he always played on the wing restricted to the sideline and limited ball.

As for Kevin Locke.. He has footwork and speed that Mini will never have again.

You're living in the past mate. Mini is the worst fullback in the comp.

Not only is he a massive liability these days but he doesn't offer anything in attack.

He's exceptional at defusing bombs but that's about the only thing he has going for him these days.
