although but Im warming to Mini as Captain...but can he still play ? ...may be ? he may not need to put his hand in the pie so much now with all the good players around him...remains to be seen.

Agree with FPN aswell.

IMO Mini was decent last year, he was very safe under high ball. He has a very unique and awkward style that makes him look uncomfortable but he always gets it, i feel safe with him at the back. Mini doesn't have the play making skills but i feel he just tried too hard and got in the way too much. People bagged him too much.

If Mini can work on taking the grubbers, and pick his moments nicely he will have another solid season. He looks more confident and dangerous too, he acctually looked like breaking two or three tackles during the Tigers Foundation Cup match! Good sign.

Everyone on here is so critical of mini. Other than slater Barba Bowen and inglis who is better than him? Dugan Boyd gidley hayne??? These guys have good games every now and then but they have injury problems attitude problems and are prone to making mistakes. Mini is solid. His positional play is perfect and his only negative is that he try's to hard because anasta did sweet **** all and he had to take pressure of Pearce. When we had carney he played a totally different role and killed. Expect him to so the same this year.....

Didn't see some of the absolute clangers he pulled off last season? with those grubbers an 8yo could've picked up? Most of his runs from dummy half nowadays result in him crabbing sideways and getting dragged back further than from where he started from

My favourite Mini clanger is the way he runs around the bouncing ball without picking it up allowing the defence to pin him in goal, or the chaser to sneak under his guard and score.....you just sit there and shake your head

u can add brett stewart to that list too, mini is old, but only has to do the things like taking a bomb and his last line of defence right this yr, everything else he can leave to the rest of the backs.
