  • Mitchell Aubusson

He needs to put in a good performance tonight.

Has been granted a starting position despite in my opinion not being at his best for two seasons.

We need him to work with SKD in defence, this may be a positive for us.

Greg Inglis also prefers to run on the left side where he can swerve and beat players. Aubbo will need to be on his game defensively.

I'm tipping he will go well.

    Go Easts!

He'll need to....no PLOD and no Cordner. Arona is a toiler, and will cover OK off the bench, but Orbs needs to be a lawn mower for 80 minutes.

I agree. I rate Aubo very highly. I don't care how he's gone in the trails. It only counts from tonight!
      Go Aubo.

I also want to see FPN fire.

How Aubbo, Pearce and SKD defend on that right will decide the game. Forget anything else you read or hear Inglis is Souffs, we limit his impact we win.

Also kicking game important get the ball out or dead no easy kick returns.

Spot on Fitzy. Kicking game needs to be spot on.

MAubs is the best 1 on 1 defender in the club and SKD's minder, I do wish he'd come in and take some hit ups when in possession from time to time but it doesn't seem to be his game.

Mitch was awesome in the trials as you will see he will be one of our best tonight and maybe the reason why we win...

The attitude and progress after not being named as a Captain has turned him into a better player and training has been great for him as well.

I think you all will be quite surprised with him tonight as I am not expecting much for our first hitout but I have a feeling he is going to do somehting special tonight.

Both of them, defence was strong not many errors and yet made good yards as well....

SKD needs to have a bigger game than Maubs.
Inglis could make him his biatch tonight. My bet is that most of his runs will be directed at him especially close to the line.

Mate I agree with 13, Aubs was very ordinary against Manly, better against the Tigs, but still underwhelming, I hope he is pumped for tonight, we'll especially need him to be now with Boyd & LOD out.

BTW why do you keep calling them trails, too many times to be typos?

I think he'll play well tonight. He normally lifts for Souths. His trial form was pretty average. Defended very well in the Tigers trial but was poor all round in the Manly trial. In the first 20 minutes of that game he was a big part of the set play Maloney was running, often receiving the pass as the front arm hitting a nice line but his handling let him down on several occasions. Didn't really see it at all in the Tigers trial. Looks like we'll have a dry game so I think he'll be playing a big part in set plays close to the line again when Pearce and Maloney are both on the right side of the ruck.

Everyone seems to be saying that SBW will come onto the right edge when he comes on but I think unless Maubs is having a shocker he'll play 80. Guerra will not play 80 on the left and I reckon we'll see SBW next to Jennings on the left with Maloney trailing in support.
