Look, I can understand the sentiment and emotion behind that gesture because I lost my Dad in my teenage years like Sam did, but counting up all the freebies given out to the likes of school children and then submitting those figures as membership numbers is not quite right.

      Don't forget pets....True.
My former workmate's golden retriever Rocky used to receive a happy birthday card each year personally signed by the Vermin Capt. I deadset thought he was taking the piss until he proved it by showing me the signed card.
I gave it to him big time but that was his way of supporting his team financially which is fair enough but, like some have stated it shouldn't be reflected in their season ticket memberships.

I heard $ouffs give away a whole heap of memberships through their charity 'Souths Cares'. This is also included in their count. Can't remember where I read it but I thought it was in the vicinity of 8000.

I actually don't know who I dislike more... Wilson or Rothfield?

any mrmbership that is paid for should be recognised. im pretty sure even the chooks have a $39 membership with no tickets and that is counted in the totals.

Smart move by going to the schools and giving them memberships, as a kid you would of loved to recieve something like that, more clubs should do it, it would cost very little to develop these packs and souths may have paid for it and included in its totals, again clever. i dont see if they are giving away memberships how it helps them, so why would you bother doing it just to have the most numbers, is there a monetary reward from the nrl?

Not all Roosters members can get to the games.
Many people have to work on Thursday nights.
Not all Roosters members/fans live in the "inner city."
Fans/Roosters members with little kids who live at Liverpool etc can't always make night games, especially Thursday nights.

Wait til the cottontails start to lose...there'll be empty seats everywhere.

                  She taking potshots at us?
                  What's new?

She shouldn't be taking potshots at anyone.

Exactly. They should be kicked out of the comp again......

If that's the go, we should do that too.

The red, white and blue membership that we offer should count as there are fans such as myself who live in SEQLD (specifically the Gold Coast for me) who want to represent and support our club up here but cannot make matches in Sydney. Clearly a ticketed membership for people such as myself doesn't make a lot of sense.

I do try and get to Sydney for matches, I was there in round 1 in the Chookpen with Muzz and the others but I can't guarantee I can make it on any given weekend.

I feel my membership should mean as much to the club as those who are season ticket holders. I buy the merchandise, support the club interstate when they do play up here, get to Sydney when I can and in general bleed red, white and blue.

If it's a membership of any kind it should be counted.
If Red White and Blue memberships are not being counted then the membership dept should be told to count them.

I checked how we stand with other clubs and found that this week, Souths hit the 27000 mark and predict 30000+ before start of next season.
                              Scary

Strange then that the Roosters (20,883) are averaging bigger home crowds this year that the Vermin (17,902).

You also have to understand that despite these membership numbers, Souths remain worthless as a financial entity.
