American football is an example of a sport that is mostly decided by athleticism and teamwork of the better side, minimally by referees. There will always be line ball calls in any sport. But ours is the worst by far for referees influencing results. And in soccer, you can get sent off for taking a dive - that's what Crocker deserved for that milked penalty - that was the one that finished us off, and the refs were happy to oblige. That "off your head" Cummins still has a job is a travesty. This corruption in sport authority, with their information they supposedly have about organised crime and sports betting, should be having a close look at those with the biggest opportunity to fix matches, and it ain't the players.

Why isn't there any positive posts on Jake Friend? The pressure he put on Reynolds to force a kick out on the full. The tap over the dead ball to stop a try. Should have been a penalty as the Souths player was offside. He cops a lot on this forum. If all the players gave 110% like he does then it may have been a different result! The coach also should have used Mortimer to rest him. Burgess was always going to score that close to the line. At least he tried. Most of you guys on here must have been superstars playing in the NRL they way you write on some of your posts. I know it is a forum and everyone is entitled to an opinion, but you are all supposed to be supporters!

Deep down Rooster fans should support anyone selected in FG.
Can not fault his defensive effort, but needs to peel off earlier to avoid penalties- if the rest of the team help him clear this will help as well.
His delivery from Dummy half is slow and predictable - a dominant call from halves can at least assist with attack direction.

as a hooker , Jake would make a good lock....in the mold of Tongue / Johnson / etc...plenty of workrate , no need for the fancy ball skills ..

Jake Friend is a toiler but the Hooker position has become so important in the modern game that being a tackling machine is not enough of a skill set to have in first grade.

Unfortunately he is a defected tackle machine as well eg. George Burgess miss amongst many others.

Never rated him however he will probably have one good game this yr and his fans will come out swinging.

Ok, so in the scenario that Friend performs very ordinary over the next few months and the club decides that we need to replace him, who do we replace him with? Do we go all out for the best under 20's hooker and take a punt on him? Is there a gun in rugby union or the English Super League we should chase? I wouldn't imagine that we would be any chance of getting Cameron Smith, how about maybe someone like a Matt Srama or is Nathan Peats from $ouff$ worth it as I am quite sure that he is off contract at the end of this season?
