he needs to take a lesson from big Sammy moa. I really like him.
each time moa took the ball up he was looking to put one of the defenders on their arse. this is what kennedy needs to do.

as has been pointed out at length by others; he is coming back from a virtually career-ending injury and hadnt played a game for virtually a year coming into this season. People are too quick to forget how good he was at full tilt at the start of 2011 before injury curelled him. He was immense last night. For a bloke weighing over 110kgs, he made stacks of tackles, was mobile, physical and did plenty of the hard work. Keep it up marty

The coach singled Kennedy out for praise in the press conference.

With Tasi and Evans now on the park, Kennedy's spot is the one most under pressure. His injury is not relevant. He has to be judged on performances alone. Look at Ryan James, he is back from an ACL and killing it.

Dont know if its been mentioned, but robbo seems to be giving him more game time, maybe to improve his match fitness, imo he is going better each week, and while not as effective as jwh in this game was allmost as good as moa.

I know, James is going to be a top draw player.

Dont let a try and the hair get in the way of proper judgement. As highly as I rate James, according to the stats from yesterdays games, marty and ryan played almost identical minutes (41 and 40mins respectively). Marty made 20 more tackles than Ryan and only 4 less runs (which makes sense considering how little ball we had and how much ball the titans had)

Seems it already has... As did his understanding of anatomy and comparison of injuries.

Sorry Roz but hair has nothing to do with it. I think you are more blinded by the colour of the jersey a player wears. I am struggling to understand how numbers of hitups mean anything. It is the effectiveness that counts and James just rips in. Kennedy hits the handbrake before the line and prevents decent go forward.

Roz, Kennedy played 23 games last season. Are you his manager? You can pull the wool over the eyes of some but seriously come up with better rubbish than that.

Robbo mentioned he left him on last night for longer than normal because he just kept going. Certainly an improved performance.

I've certainly been one to give him time, but it shouldn't prevent him from hitting the line at pace. As I mentioned before, he is really winding up with intent, but just hesitating at the line. Moa and JWH aren't slowing up. It may simu be confidence. If he hits at the pace he sets off at he will do some damage.

I have no vested interest in martin aside from being a fan of this club. My issue here is that when you have a 23 year old prop running around who has had the injuries of late that he has, he deserves time to grow into a player. The fact that prior to his injuries he showed himself to be one of the premier props in the game despite only being in his early 20s is reason enough for us to give him time to continue to develop and improve. Doesnt this kennedy rubbish mirror that which was being said about shillington among others before they went on to become internationals? Props dont mature until 25 or more in some cases. Im not defending him, all Im saying here is that you have a guy who has shown already at a very tender age for a prop that he has a massive amount of potential. He is still young, has had some injuries and is obviously short of a run. To come on here and carry-on as if we have some 30 year old hack going around is uncalled for.
