Are you an idiot? SKD missed 1 tackle tonight which was not crucial one bit. He was also the main tackler when we put Tupou into touch to save the try.

My God, sometimes you wonder if some people here were watching the same game as everyone else.

Pearce is a very good Rugby League player, but not a halfback. He could move out wider to 5/8 and concentrate on setting up the outside backs, or he could move to hooker and help control the play, Cameron Smith-style, from the ruck.

But he isn't a very effective halfback. Has no spark, slow in attack, can't break the line, stymies attacking plays. Don't get me wrong, the bloke is an above average first-grade Rugby league talent, he is just clearly not top-line halfback material.

      Friend is slow and ordinary.

We can stock our team full of attacking talent like SBW and Jennings, but this is all money urinated up against the wall if we have lacklustre players in arguably the two most important positions on the field.

My view is this: Friend dropped. Pearce to hooker. Maloney to halfback... this does leave a hole at 5/8th but I am sure we can sort this out somehow, maybe a mid-season recruit, or a lower-grader brought in and thrown into the deep-end.

Sorry, this isn't palatable stuff for many, and it's complicated by our resigning of Pearce for many years. But Pearce is NOT a premiership-winning halfback with the ability to dominate and take control of a game, and make the crucial winning plays in challenging, knife-edge circumstances.

We have seen it at Easts and for NSW.

Coach Robbo needs to watch the halfback's performance closely, and man-up as a coach, and make the tough call.

          For six years

I have been reading what a player Pearce is and all I've seen is shit performance after shit performance. He's rubbish at club level and he's rubbbish at state level. He nearly cost us a win tonight because he gave away a brain dead penalty which enabled the warriors to go on the attack and culminated in them scoring a try. Yes he did a good chase to stop the try from being scored under the posts but he chased hard because he knew that his dumbarse penalty was the reason the try was scored in the first place. His poor pass selection was the reason Mini spilled it, similar to his poor pass selection last week when our first try was nearly butchered. His laughable attempts at grubbering the ball in goal was just that laughable. How many chances does this teflon coated primadonna get? People who continually defend him need to get a grip. I was happy that we got a win tonight but that happiness was nearly extinguished because of a couple of schoolboy errors.

Mate, just go to bed & have a good old tug. Might relieve some of the frustration.

Mate, I love ya like a Brother, and I don't disagree with the sentiment that Pearce isn't as good as what some think, but even Rusticle would agree that was a sweet ball and Mini is 100% to blame for dropping the pill.

Watch it again. Mini has been dropping perfect balls for the last few years now. He does it weekly.

I thought this thread was gonna read "for six years I've watched Mini catch bombs but drop passes to the breadbasket".

                      The FlogPen .

                      You know it makes sense.

they are all playing 5/8, pearce makes what should be easy look very difficult, kid is still young and hopefully starts getting his basic passing and kicking skills right, he looks strong enough to break the line but just cant, if he learns to pass and kick ill be more than happy, maloney jennings and sbw can take over from there.

Great post Edge - I agree Pearce is more of a hooker than a half - he knows he is not a playmaker or game breaking half so too the coach - the longer he stays at half with jake at hooker nothing looks like changing from from last year whilst we have marquee signings being wasted by slow thinkers Jake and Mitch who both can't kick nor pass exceptionally well.
