You're not seriously trying to defer the blame for that try? That was the worst of the lot, he didn't even make an attempt." A man can only walk as far as he can see"

It's a shame that the only two errors he made led to try's scored.
If you take those two errors out he is probably near our best.
The positioning of himself for that first try was fantastic. Drifted to the outside at the last minute and the finish was all class.
His ability to take the high ball under pressure is second to none in the league IMO.
Right now he is the best option at fullback unfortunately. I hope RTS is studying minis positioning and his ability to back up at half breaks and not watching his decision making with the rolling ball or his timing and hands when joining in on the sweeping back lines.

dropping simple balls, screwing up backline movements and letting countless grubbers stroll past you is not safe. In fact, i'd say most of our heart-beats freeze in fear when Mini touches the ball due to the unpredictable nature of his handling. Sure he catches a lot of bombs safely, but most fullbacks do nowadays..Last edited by Chook Norris; 03-17-2013, 01:27 PM.

Well after last weeks performance on the right, RTS showed a lot inexperience defense wise, that's how i know HOWEVER, as you say, it must happen but it wont happen overnight, but it will happen.

But wingers these days do similar every week, it's part of the position now, extreme atletecism.
The FB position has passed Mini by now. I started the season knowing he'd be our FB and accepting his limitations but his hand in all 3 Worriers tries last night is a real worry IMO.
Generally players don't get more skillful as they age. Mini was never overly skillful, he was a great athlete.
The FB position is such now we are at a massive disadvantage not using a skillful player there.
I love the bloke, I don't want to end up hating him.
It's time that kid got a go there. He will make errors, that's a given, but I believe we can all cop a kid making errors better than our most experienced player and captain making errors.
Against the smarter clubs I fear Mini is gonna get owned hard.

You know it makes sense.

Mini had some bad luck ...
some of those bombs many other fullbacks would have dropped
A great captains knock & an average full backs display & I forgive him
am confident he will embarass some of you as the season warms"Qui audet adipiscitur"

I think they should swap positions throughout the game. Mini can be FB when the opposition is about 50 out and about to bomb. And RTS can switch to FB when they're close and about to grubber. However we don't know if RTS can do a better job yet since he hasn't played FB. RTS should always come into the backline play instead of Mini though, he always seems to ruin it.
