    They are joking aren't they?

"This is time to give your all

Supporters of the Sydney Roosters have endured a season from hell but come Sunday around 3:30pm there will be reason to celebrate.

The main focus will be on Craig Fitzgibbon who will play his final game in the famous Tricolours as he ends an esteemed 10 year career with the club.

Fellow Roosters Iosia Soliola, Shane Shackleton and Mark O'Meley will also bid farewell in what is shaping as an emotional day for the club.

There are so many reasons to get to the game with a family theme centred around the departing players, who have kids themselves.

There will be a jumping castle, face painters, stilt walker, mechanical bull and Disney characters Mickey and Mini Mouse, along with Spiderman for the kids enjoyment in the stadium forecourt pre-match.

After the four players complete a lap of honour a siren will sound allowing kids on the field.

There should be plenty of kids out there too with under 16s allowed free entry to the match with a paying adult.

Sydney Roosters players will be rallying around Fitzgibbon to ensure it is a send of fitting for a man who has given so much to this club.

Roosters fans all over Sydney are being encouraged to make their way to the Sydney Football Stadium by 1:00pm to witness the Sydney Roosters tribute packages to our departing players, showing prior to the 2:00pm kick off.

Only a strong turnout of Red, White and Blue will be a fitting a send off for “Fitzy†as he leads out his beloved Roosters for the final time.

Kids under 16 will gain free access to this game when they present their free kids ticket that can be downloaded here.

Every Sydney Roosters Member is still eligible to receive one free general admission ticket for this match. Register for the ticket by emailing roostersmembership@sydneyroosters.com.au.

There will be a table setup in the forecourt where Members guests can collect these before the match.

To purchase tickets get into the Roosters official supporters store, Sydney Gameday, by calling Ticketek 132 849 or by clicking here."

    Why would they be joking???

The Football club needs to get people to the game to make money, they can use any form of marketing they wish.

they are playing on the fans loyalty to the club and the past loyalty by Fitzy to the club in an effort to get more people to the game.

Then again they could do nothing at all, either way there will be people saying marketing do nothing, i guess they are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

    What would you do coggy?

Telling fans to give it their all is laughable, considering the effort of the players and coach.

lets play a little game coggy, you are at roosters marketing, Last game of the season with fitzy leaving.

you are assigned the role of drumming up numbers for the game to ensure a large crowd via a press release such as the one released by the club above.

What would you do? remember, the club needs to make money as they are a business so giving out free tickets to all fans is not an option.

i don;t care about what you would not do, i only want to know what you would do.

When I got the above email, I read it, mumbled a few choice words and deleted it.

A few minutes later I decided that Fitzy alone deserved better so retrieved from the deleted items and put it my email "footy folder". I might be able to read it in better times and think how far we've come.

I'll be watching the game, but won't be attending. Hopefully Fitzy gets the send off he deserves with a win.

Sorry Muz, I agree with RC.

We the fans have given our all, 100% this year. No different from any other year.

Where have the boys been this year?

I do agree Fitzy deserves a great send off but the club needs to stop sending me patronising, 'encouraging' emails.

Whatever, regardless of how the club has been travelling this year i wouldn't miss Fitzy's farewell for anything.

                        Will be a good day.

everyone goes on about how great marketing are this year, but really the only thing i've heard that backs that up is they reply to peoples emails quickly. not exactly revolutionary. so they can use email. woo.

remember the emails they send out are mass emails, they cannot send emails to target certain induviduals or groups.

As i said before, the club can do either one of two things. either send out something or not send out something.

Regardless of the form of the side, the club's marketing dept need to send these things out in an effort to try and get the fans to the game.

I don't think an email title like "We're crap but come to the game just because..." will not fly or be successful.

Like i said, the marketing dept are damned if they do and damned if they don't really

I know what you're saying Muz, but imo, if you're gonna do something, you do it well. I think there is a blanket of half heartedness about the entire club at the moment.
