I agree spy he was very tentative taking it up to the line and got dominated as a result. But give him time and I think he'll really shine for us. He's got a great fend, not many can keep Hurrell at arms length long enough to get around him. He summed up the situation and reacted quickly for mini's try. He just needs more confidence and game time imo.

It's taken us this long to get SKD to run straight and hard into the line when bringing the all up, Toops will come good.

    Chook.

We need to start playing to his strengths and give him some well positioned kicks on the try line. He has a huge height advantage over any other winger, we should be making him compete in the air as much as possible.

If we fail to do this then his height is useless and Oldfield would be a better selection.

most of our tries come thru the hands unlike the rabble their come from kicks. if james has a short chip game i would love too see it. boyd, sbw, topou, and even guerrs have the jumping ability.thats two tallies either side of the kicker as options.

Daniel Tupou maybe a tall big body but I think his handling has a lot to be desired.

The team got lucky with a couple of stripped ball calls but he made a couple of errors.

One knock on with a weak carry and another dropped bomb. It's a concern.

I think Michael Oldfield might get a look in.

Hopefully that will end up the worst game of his career. Oldfield would easily be able to keep up with Jennings but I'll give Tupou the benefit of the doubt for now.

I'd like to see RTS on the wing outside Jennings. Couldn't do any worse. His footwork would compliment Jennings' footwork. They both have fast and sharp footwork. As for Tupou, maybe outside SKD he may look good. These two have similar traits; who knows they just might click together LOL.

Lol you're kidding right? We "couldn't do any worse" with a Sk-Dumbarse/Toupo combo? Are you just waiting to give our supporters heart attacks?

While I can accept he is young and learning, after all the preseason hype, tupou certainly has some improvement in him... Im happy to leave the call on whether to persist/give someone else a go with the staff who would also be better aware of the ability of his potential replacements. I wouldnt mind seeing Wells or Oldfield given a game though before Moga gets back (if he does at all this year) just as an indication of what we have coming through at least from the perspective that mini is likely to retire at the end of the year which will open up a spot so it would help us decide whether to bring someone in or whether there is enough talent in what we have to cover for him

im a big fan of toups but he was worst on ground tonight for mine. the way he carries the ball when he takes it up gives me heart attacks. he makes skd look safe as a bank.

So basically what you're saying is that we hide Sk-Dumbarse and Tupou out on the right side hoping that their heart and mouth style of play can be countered by a Jennings/RTS left side attacking combination. Awesome, because opposing teams would clearly "not look" at attacking the Dumb/Tupou edge 90% of the time.

                                Good call Sherlock
