I don't think many doubt Pearce's ability or skillset given how often he features near the top of NRL stats for halves. His ability to apply consistent pressure or take the correct option at the right time however is what most can see he lacks.

Soward is rubbish right now, i cannot and will not defend him, Pearce is not rubbish but ordinary at present, yet all the usal crew will defend that some how.

Both those blokes could not lace a boot next to Reynolds at present.

However taking current form into account i would back Reynolds and Soward to make that clutch play if they played today to get a team home at the death

And to answer your question, Soward. Without the structure and coaching of Bennett, Soward has been shown to be the overrated twat we all told he was even when he was in his prime. You can't deny we told you that the only reason Soward was playing well was because of the structure and coaching he was getting at the time.

On current form Reynolds is playing better than Pearce no argument. But again he's playing well because of the structures and coaching he's getting from Maquire. Same with DCE. I've watched all the halves this year and to be honest, for the first 50-mins against the Broncos round 1 DCE was very ordinary. Same as Reynolds Monday night, he was ordinary for a lot of that game, but he looks better and they won due to the team he plays in.

You and tardburn won't give Pearce the same opportunity to play with good structures in well coached side before comparing him to halves that are. And that's unfair imo. You only have to look at Keating at the dogs to see an example of an ordinary half made to look much better than he is by the team he's surrounded by.

Pearce has had 3 crap coaches, the most overated 5/8 ever in the game as his partner for all but one of his years and a spine consisting of Jake Friend and Minichello. Hardly a fair comparison to Reynolds or DCE.

If by seasons end Pearce and the team are not performing at a similar level to Souffs and Manly I'll admit I was wrong.

Everyone has a different view of 'supporting the club'.. Why should I support Pearce if I think he's bringing the team down? It's only my opinion and I'm allowed to support the team the way I feel, just as you do. I've been waiting over 6 years for him to show his potential and so far have seen next to nothing. How long should we all wait for him to win a game for the club? I can't recall a single game he's dominated like other halves. Reynolds is a far better player, sadly he plays for Souths...

You're right it is getting old. I agree there's little point in constantly bagging him but I don't agree you have to support every player just because they play for the club..... But it is still fact he has not been the player we all hoped and never will be. I wish we could all be proven wrong by him but I can't see it at this stage of his career.
