  • Pearce saved us the game against New Zealand

Just to balance the argument, I think that Pearce's chase to the end when the Warriors scored their last try saved us the game. Had he not chased all the way they would have scored under the post and would not have missed the goal. So sick of reading negatives about his game. What about the positives, he saved us.

But some may argue it was his fault it was intercepted in the first place so it makes no difference. Personally, I don't think he won us the game but it wasn't his fault that they came back.

Pearce's chase was on the first Warriors try, after Minichiello dropped it and Johnson took off with the dropped ball. But irrespective it was a great chase.

I thought the chase was going to be pointless at first due to Johnson's speed. But pearce showed great speed and was even closing the gap on him... and Johnson is no slouch.
But to be honest I think we all know what everyone thinks of pearce... the followers arent going to change their mind about him and either are the detractors... not over another bitter chookpen argument anyway lol.
I am one of his followers for the record... I think he played ok on saturday

And I'm sitting on the fence. Very uncomfortable.

Time for Jr Jr to show us what he's got. If he does I'll be the first to praise him.

Mitch is the one guy in the team I have concerns with in terms of us achieving what we can.

But I wouldn't harp on it like the mini haters... as its just counter productive to the cause in our role as supporters.

Hooker and Fullback are the issue. Not halfback imo.

I think at worst he is a solid club halfback who busts his arse on every play. I won't bag any Roosters player who works hard for the jersey.

I think at best, he can be a top halfback, if he can find the maturity to bide his time a little and not push the play. Whether he will gets there will depend on whether the current gaps in his game are innate, relate to maturity or are due to poor coaching. Time will tell.

We have four more years of him in a Chooks jersey and as long as he keeps putting in I will keep cheering for him.

Of course this will mean I will be accused of "supporting mediocrity" by a bunch of keyboard heroes who have likely not achieved much themselves but that is the beauty of the chookpen.

This is my biggest gripe with some people on here.

Of course you're not going to like every player we have and you may not think they are good enough for their position BUT you should always support them!!!!

What do we achieve by constantly bagging our players..?

For tardburn it's about him being right and everyone else being wrong, that's why he loves it when we lose, gives him the opportunity to spruik how right he is by blaming Pearce. Hell the moron even blamed Pearce for the warriors coming back when even Ray Charles could see it was Mini who was to blame.

Pearce saved a try in the 17th minute stopping Mateo close to the line one on one.
Pearce chased Johnson and forced him to the sideline.
Pearce jumped on a lose ball near the end with the game in the balance.

But you won't hear boo about that from the morons casue it doesn't suit their biased bullshit.

Pearce is here for another 5 years including 2013 with Robbo being a major facet of him re-signing. I'll listen to Robbo over a key board know nothing anytime.

                          Chook.

This is a an opinion site, not a coaches press conference

Every club has players who polarise the supporters, and supporters are entitled to voice their views. The difference, I believe, is in those who would either deathride a player and hope he fails so as to be able to come on here and say "See, I told you", or overlook it when said player actually goes ok. I'm a stringent critic of Mini's, but every week I go into the game hoping he will prove me wrong. Sadly, he rarely does. But I'll be hoping again on Saturday. Should he produce another shocker, and if he retains his position all season by producing shockers and denies the team the opportunity to have a 1 who contributes, then I think I'm entitled to be annoyed about that.

As for Pearce, his critics are entitled to expect more from the guy who plays in perhaps the most important position on the field, especially after 100+ first grade games. If he does happen to improve, and there's way more chance of that happening than there is with Mini, I hope they're actually happy about it
