Must be based off try-assists and linebreak-assists. I know Pearce done really well in those two stats especially LB-Assists

Based on about 10 different statistics, ranging from defence to attacking attributes.

      And it's did*

But you don't rate Cooper Cronk so I think you might not want to go quoting that index too loudly.

          Sure I do, I just don't think he's a great.

Do you think he's one of the great halfbacks like Sterlo, Johns & Thurston?

Is there a breakdown for the stats? stats dont matter when they are at the wrong end of the field

We know he is extremely fast & extremely strong. Would like to see this raw talent better trained

No way but the index says he is better than Thurston which we all know is not the case, no where near it. So it hardly proves Pearce is better than the halves that aren't in the to 5. So if you are using it to prove a point, it may not work.

The index is a guide on performance not ability.

Thurston struggled quite a bit when moving back to 5/8 last year. For whatever reason Henry thought it'd be a good idea to limit his touches, it wasn't until the back half of the season that they got the balance right and he started dominating again. I think everyone knows he's the far superior player.

Cronk is just exceptionally consistent in an awesome team, it's not really a surprise to see him first.

I'd still prefer DCE over Pearce.

so you use the stats to support your Pearce assertion, but then when the stats fail to back up another of your assertions, that's ok because "I think everyone knows he's the far superior player"

                    you are freakin hilarious 6

Sir, I have been a chook supporter and member for over 30 years and my comment wasn't a comment against the club rather a comment against Mitchell Pearce's apparent lack of skill at number 7 and in my opinion DCE is a far better halfback than Pearce.
He is a responsible young father and a well spoken man who gives thought into his play on field something Mitchell Pearce doesn't do. I seriously don't understand the Manly membership comment as I never commented on them, but the comment was something I would have expected from a South Sydney supporter.

I'd wager the same statistical analysis of 2005 to 2006 would have seen one Brett Finch ranked in the top 5 halfbacks as well.

Raking up statistics can only get you so far. I blame the rise in fantasy footy for them becoming so highly regarded these days (fantasy footy is also the reason why Gallen is considered some super human player, despite being actually quite average)
