  • Roosters vs Broncos Match Day Thread

hope we can get as many chooks supporters to the game as we can. it would be poor to back up a 40,000 game against the souths with a low 10,000 crowd tonight.
I for one am breaking a personal milestone of going to more than 1 match per year. thank you membership!
anyway I don't want to be that guy, but there are a lot of you on here being very optimistic about a win tonight. as a notorious bet-hedger, im predicting broncos by 10. they will get into a grind with us, and the refs will typically penalise us out of the game, and poor handling will let us down. hodgo's replacement will score a double and pearce will play a good game only to get blamed for the loss.
will be good to get updates on the newtown game as well. go easts!

I love tour optimism .... I have seen broncos grind as yet this year ... im saying chooks by 8. And it would be poor to get less than 10000 ... I am going to take a stab in the dark and say 17000

mate nothing would make me happier than a win tonight. we typically struggle against them, and our games are usually hard-fought.
there was no optimism or pessimism involved in my post. I don't let bias interfere with my prediction. my prediction was what I believe would happen.
optimism is me saying we would win by 30 because we are a premiership-winning team with a bunch of great blokes.
pessimism is me saying we would lose by 30 because we are rank average and our halfback cant play to save his life.

Napa is playing for Newtown today, so he isn't 18th man tonight

interesting that Bosden started at hooker for Newtown, seems the off season mail was correct, it seems if Bosden can get match fit he will likely take Mortimers spot on the bench and be the player to give Friend a spell when required, don't mind this move it allows Bosden to play backrow/hooker rather than carrying Mortimer as a pure dummy half sub.

I thought aubs was going to be the man to fill that role but it seems robbo had other ideas. kudos to him. ive called this move for a long time.
maybe that means aubs will be our chris flannery style player off the bench?

              Hi friends,

Our beloved Sydney "Easts" Roosters will win tonight's match by a margin of 11 points.

Pearce to kick a field goal?

                What price?

pretty ordinary day so far for the roosters, beaten in SG Ball, Harold Mathews, NSW Cup (Newtown), and the NYC are getting thumped by the Broncos early in the second half.

Gus Gould is building quite the future empire at the foot of the mountains their SG Ball/HM teams are 7 from 7 so far this year, their NYC/NSW cup also undefeated, rumours he is spending big on the next generation, hence the clean out of the top grade.

                    backs are the same
JWH Friend ,Moa Cordner SBW and FPN are the starting forwards
Morts ,Kennedy ,Aubs O'donnel are the bench
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

For SE QLD fans like me the match against the Broncs is like a Souths vs Roosters clash for most. I really want to belt this side and show the idiots up here what we're made of. Everywhere I go up here Broncs fans are extremely confident .... It's tragic our record against them in Sydney ... our Suncorp battles almost always end up in our favour, the three we have had there in 10 years ...

                      Carn EASTS!

What a bs penalty, they were holding down in the tackle at least that long in our first set.
