Putting my coach's hat on for a moment, I would ask Mitchell to aim to just hit the goal posts with his short kicks inside the opposition 20 and let the team know that is what he will attempt to do. Perhaps that will help him keep the ball in play?

Great effort by the Roosters, I'm very proud of them after the effort shown.

He squared up in attack for a change and that was an improvement .Took on the line with limited opportunities -thats fine but was caught nappimg on last tackle ,wasnt ready for it thats a total lack of concentration thinking about pussycat dolls or some thing

Pearce needs to improve his kicking game...deft kicks into the in-goal to get repeat sets...like the Broncos did.

What did he say that was so offensive, everyone who watched the game would of been thinking the exact same thing, the frustration with not being able to apply pressure with repeat sets is agonising, it's critical to winning and losing these days and Mitchell failed last night.

I thought mitch had a decent game, I thought the broncs were offside most of the game and were all over him during his kicks.

We all know his short kicking game is ordinary but **** give it a rest.
Not every half in the comp is the complete package.
Hopefully Maloney can command the ball more and take the attacking kicks because I'm sick to death of reading these shit threads about Junior not being able to get a repeat set.
It's not enough that he is probably the best in the comp chasing his own kick and helping to pin the opposition in there own 20 though is it.
Like I said, % 95 of first graders have flaws in there game, only the very elite don't and Pearcy isn't one of those so get over it. Hopefully he is working really hard at training to improve that area of his game

                This might help too:

*Angle the grubber kick when close to the try line (this allows more room for error, in the power of the kick)
Example - Kick towards Jennings rather than straight ahead.

*Aim at try line or just short, not middle of in goal area.
This way the opponent is pinned on there try line at worst, and not a 20m tap for going dead.

geez watching the titts game, if we still had taka we could have used his short kicking game instead of mitches

He's a pretty slow learner, after all he's had six years to learn.

I've got an under 11s side too this year.
Have a halfback that plays soccer, he has a good kicking game and a good passing game as well.

If Taka was in the team do you think we would have kept them to nil

The only thing Pearce has on Finch is his physical attributes. Skill-wise I can't split them.

After 6 years in first grade, anyone who wants to continue blaming coaches for Pearce's shortcomings is clueless. The best we can hope for is Maloney making Pearce look much better than he really is the same way Carney did.

As much as I hate to admit it......that's exactly what I was thinking last night.

This is the third week in a row there is complaining about Mitchell Pearce after a match and consecutive weeks it has come off the back of a win. There are fans on this website who are happier that our team lose so that they continue to complain and act as though they are a rugby league oracle who knows more about the game plan of the sport than our current coach does.
