If it wasnt for a little SBW magic it would of been a soccer score.
Maloney was the best half on the field by SO FAR it's just not even funny. Surely even you don't believe what you're writing?

Maloney was the best PLAYER on the field, not the best HALF.
He ran holes like he always does but if we are to compare halves based on what their job description then Wallace and Prince outplayed Maloney and Pearce. The worst part about that is that they themselves were attrocious.

Getting repeat sets is a very minor part of a halves role, being able to organise your side (they were a rabble), executing set plays (which they didn't) and creating room for your outside backs (which they couldn't) are all far more effective ways of winning games and they failed on all fronts despite having NUMEROUS opportunities after being gifted possession after continual stupid errors from us.

What the **** are you on about?

In fact it is not so much the lack of repeat sets that is the issue it is the poor execution of last tackle options in attack. These are a hugely important role of a halve and Pearces are consistently poor. It is like having a clown who can't juggle, a barista who can't make a latte or the Bulldogs having a CFO who can't fiddle the books.

It's unbelievable. If the Pearce baggers beat each off this badly after back to back wins, fark help this forum if we get on a losing streak. The sprog will be that deep it'll be grab life vests and cling to furniture.
Robbo sees something in Pearce, that's why he was instrumental in his re-signing for 4 years. And based on how the team is going after 3 rounds since taking over, I'm more confident that Robbo IS one of them better coaches and can improve Pearce, especially his short kicking game.
Chook.

You just have to compare Pearce to a Marshall, Cronk, Farah, even Reynolds to see that Pearce is lacking between the ears. All those players mentioned have the presence of mind to delay a kick by taking an extra half-step, alter the kick, or even abandon the kick. Pearce much like Finch is only capable of a pre-meditated kick which the opposition are always ready for.

Going back to when pearce started his short kicks were good and we scored haps of tries especially in Freddy coaching year and he had a kicking combo with Anasta as well that resulted ina lot of tries.
Its really now up to the coach to apply the lessons and Pearce take control of it.Thats why we have a coach. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe
