  • Here come the Roosters.

I noticed the old team song blarring out over the pa after the Broncos game. Has the club re-adopted it as our official team song again or do they still sing the Lopini Paea version?

    Chook.

Did the players ever sing it?

All I knows is that I was giving the Easts song a red hot go in a GA bay and getting some funny looks from some fans.
It's scientifically impossible for Easts to be in Souths' shadow when there's daylight between them and us.
      Easts to win

Not the original I don't think. They've sang a version penned by the Paea brothers for the last couple of years I believe (no privvy to the dressing shed). But seeing how the greatest team song ever was beating out over the PA after the Saturday night win, and how we've gone retro with some administrative signings, I thought we may have gone back the best?

        Chook.

The Paea guys did a different song ( the team victory song - quite tribal) The here comes the roosters is the original.

Yeah I'm sure Horry is right. Lopini penned some victory song (or chant) for the players to sing in the dressing room after a win, nothing to do with the theme song.

Lopini's wife wrote it actually. How good it was to hear the original loud and clear over the loudspeakers during the post match interviews onfield when I watched the replay the other night on Bigpond Sport. Now if they could just get the sound system clearer for the onfield panel show..Fletch is the guest this week and I'd really like to be able to hear him..

Either way, I was happy to hear they've brought it back.

The club is embracing its heritage.

Now to lose that shit logo and revert to the 2D coq.

Damn shame that as I'd love to hear the boys screaming Hear Come the Roosters after a win.

You're beating a dead horse there Pipe. Nick's got the new logo as his tatt and I doubt he'd be amenable to changing it now.

                  Chook.

We were supposed to use it more last year as that was the plan to get back to the tradition and it was played when we won. problem was we didn't win too many!

funny you should say that chook, i actually asked someone at the club why we just cant go back to Easts and return to our old emblem and the answer was the board wants too however the boss has a tattoo of the new Roosters emblem and wants it kept.thought they were having a laugh...

Also agree with everyone how good it was to hear our great traditional song blaring out on sat night. They need to keep using it to get the kids used to it like we all are.

They have played Here Comes The Roosters for the last few years after a win (three at least).
Unfortunately it is played at a level where unless you are really listening for it you probably wouldn't know.
Especially if you are in the pen, as the place is generally going nuts at the time.

If that's true, that's fcuking ridiculous.

And what kind of idiot would get the new logo tattooed anyway? You'd go the coq, surely.

What a top song, I love that.

Easts know how to play the game,
they play it hard and fair,

they win more than their share.
They're great to see in action,

"Easts to win" shout the cry that everybody knows,
If you play this football game beware the Roosters crow.
