I doubt Trent Robinson has much choice but to pick Mini at this stage. Robbo knows the love Politis has for Mini. It would be very brave to go against the chairman the early. The same reason Anasta was picked as Captain and 5/8 every week last year. Robbo should not be put in a position where Mini is an option.

This! Mini should never have been extended. Think about it, we could have gotten rid of Anasta, Smith, Smith, Elliot and the rest of the uselessness at the end of 2012 and not put Robbo in this position.

I just put a few quotes in, one which directly said Nick "looked after Mini". I'm not saying he picks the team but Nick is and always has been the boss. Surely you can see that?

Like I said this thread misses the point, no one has ever said Mini wasn't a great player.

As others have said Freddy was a great player so were Morley, Fitzy and Ricko.

i love how all i was saying is that we should support our Captain and legend player, Hall of famer... But many of you still wanna stick the knife into him. most of you are hypocritical, Saying "the past this" "the past that" , yet you prob the same people who are on the other thread saying you loved hearing a song after a win that is over 100 years old, And prob the same people that bag Souffs for not winning a comp in decades.... why does that matter? its the past.


Mini is not half as bad as most of you make him out to be, And although i love the prospect that is RTS i dont think his ready for FB, he has shown very little on the wing this year thus far to warrant taking Minis spot.

First of all Roosterman I get where you are coming from with Mini, I love the bloke like a brother!! He is without doubt a true Roosters legend!

A few little points I would like to make about Mini.

The main thing is, is that Mini this year is costing us bugger all on the cap because of the long service allowance, so Mini is quite decent value for us when you take that into consideration. However, this must be Mini's last year playing for us as Pearce will be entitled to the long service allowance next year, so then we lose the value of keeping Mini in regards to the cap, along with him being another year older and losing even more speed with age.

I thought he played quite well for us against the broncos.

That brilliant game he played for us on Anzac Day against st merge was only last year, surely he will be capable of producing some more displays like that this year.

He is our captain, Robbo asked all the players who they wanted as their captain and they unanimously chose Mini as he is inspirational to them. You can't drop the captain as this can have an adverse affect on the team.

During games RTS and Mini must alternate between the fullback and wing positions. RTS must get exposure to playing fullback very soon as we need to know if he is the future for us at fullback, or whether we need to go out and buy a gun fullback like Sam Tompkins from the ESL. RTS has been given very little opportunity to show us what he has with being stuck on the wing outside SKD who seems to never pass to him, he will only get that real opportunity by playing fullback, seeing more ball and having room to move.

I would love to see for us around the 25th minute mark in games, go to another gear by bringing Seluini on from the bench and switching Mini and RTS. Mini can get a bit of a breather on the wing, which when you are an older bloke helps.

You right you didnt mention Robbo or his team mates, thats was another poster. But your post insinuated that Mini was mainly in the team due to his relationship with Politis.

Personally i dont think Mini has been anywhere near as bad as you & others are making out, & that has nothing to do with sentiment but has everything to do with form & the overall balance of the team. I would hate to imagine the effect dropping the club captain half way through the season would have on the form & morale of the team.

A Club legend, And I for one will support this man till he retires, We cop enough BS from other clubs we dont need to week in week out trash our own captain, His not THE BEST anymore, His just a solid fullback, And if i had to put my life on it id pick him to be under a highball when its pissing down rain and the ball is swirling!

Politis has influence over all aspects of the club. He doesn't pick the team but if you don't think Politis doesn't get what he wants them you don't know how the club is run.
