Didnt the players themselves unanimously nominate Mini as captain?

And yes i have no doubt Politis wields considerable influence at the club but unless you can prove otherwise, your comments are still pure speculation in regards to why Robbo picks Mini each week.

As i've said before, maybe, just maybe Robbo picks Mini each week because he believes he warrants selection.

i do think mini is the best ive ever seen? churchill was before my time, fairy was very good would have been dynamite in the modern game, but mini the ex gymnast just had that extra athleticism that put him a level above all others? but then im rwb to the core so naturally im biased. diamond was grewat too, never seen such courage from a fullback?

I used to have a very good sales consultant, used to meet KPI every month, was great, but for the past 2 years he has been average & in some cases made other consultants lose sales, but hell, he was good in the past and is a very nice bloke, lets keep losing money & keep him on board at the expense of sponsors ,shareholders & other stakeholders!
This 'sales consultant' wouldn't be ...you by any chance?

Politis wants a win and Mini will not get in his way for that therefore he must believe in Robbos choice.

Personally i dont think Mini has been anywhere near as bad as you & others are making out, & that has nothing to do with sentiment but has everything to do with form & the overall balance of the team. I would hate to imagine the effect dropping the club captain half way through the season would have on the form & morale of the team.
Honestly my post didn't have anything other than Mini's quotes.

While I have a strong opinion I actually understand why the coach is playing it this way. I don't agree with it but I understand it.

Looking forward the real test will be if Mini declines badly like last year and if Moga returns and plays well.

On dropping the captain a few quotes from Souffs.

''Michael understands that it is all about our performances each week,'' Maguire said. ''I have got a great squad and they judge themselves on how they are playing.

''I am sure he was upset because he has a lot of pride about his selection but he completely understands and he has been very professional about his training and everything he has done this week.''

''[He] is trying to change the culture here at the club and it is like everyone's job isn't safe, so you have got to work hard during the week, and if you are not performing Madge will probably find someone who will do the job,'' Asotasi said.

''For us it is a good thing - it keeps us on our toes and keeps us working all the time.''

            No morale problems there.

              And thats fair enough

As for Mini being dropped, I dont think his form is as bad as many are making out & at this stage on form he doesnt deserve to be dropped...... IMO of course.

At this stage we're just trying to gel as a team & that dropping the captain & fullback at this stage would be a major disruption and completely unneccessary. Lets just see how things go over the next few weeks before we consider any radical changes to our team.

In the end we all want the same thing and that is for "Easts to Win".

The old "you mustn't be a real fan..." call.

                LOL

I'm happy to be a whinger if that's what you want to call us.

Because I want the best team out there does not make me less of a fan. That I am sure of.

Mini was great a decade ago. So was Ricky Ponting, Harry Kewell...

I agree mate at the moment Mini should hold his spot IMO on the wing but still in first grade.

I just think RTS should be spending time at fullback with a view to being there full time.

If Moga returns and plays well I think he could be in trouble, the kid is a gun.
