Rothfield has been slagging off easts as being salary cap cheats for months. Hell he has been doing it for years.


It really is a poor show for Aussie journalism that the editor of the sports department at the biggest newspaper in the country is nothing but a fall down drunk shouting grammatically incorrect and error riddled tweets all day, every day. Him and the Mole rabbit back and forth like a couple of old rummy morons arguing in a bar about whose pissed themselves the least.

He appears to have achieved what he wants. He probably has more Roosters supporters following him than any other club. I'm sure he does it to incite the supporters more than Uncle Nick or POS. If the latter really worried about the drivel that comes out of Rothwit, I'm sure they would have done something about it after all these years.

I actually find it amusing that people take anything he says to heart. Seriously, who gives a rats what anyone says about the club? It's been happening for years through pure envy. Cheating the cap, poaching players, no juniors, buying comps. Hopefully a 6th grand final since 2000 will bring more of the haters out.

Hardly. Freddy bit back but I would say it was more of a joke. He invited him to sit on the sidelines with him for the dogs game and then to go into the sheds afterwards. At first Rothwit sh!t himself and declined but eventually took up the offer. I hope he brings in his camera/taxi man and takes a photo in the middle of Uncle Nick and POS.

Putting defamation to one side for a moment, he's acting like a deranged fan of another club, certainly not a journalist from, hate them or otherwise, a very large media company.

Why do people bother themselves with what this individual Phil "Buzz" Rothfield has to say about our club? He is comparable to the short, fat kid at school that criticizes the people during sports time while he is not playing the game. Have you heard this man discuss the game of Rugby League before? He is arguably the least knowledgeable person within the major media of Sydney when analyzing the sport.

I'm over him dragging our proud clubs name through the mud. Writing opinion pieces on our club is one thing, everyone is entitled to their opinion but this is quite clearly a step beyond an opinion article or a bit of gossip about a player movement though this is straight out defamation and if his only proof is the Storm books then he's clearly got nothing.

He has been doing this for ages on Twitter. Unfortunately he is aware that most people in his position are 'untouchable'. That's coz the victims, POS and the Roosters, know they are in for a huge legal battle taking on such a huge Newspaper.

And it also comes down to how often POS is mentioned in the final salary cap rorting report. If it states anywhere in there that he is guilty or was involved up to his eyeballs, then u won't prove defamation against him. You can't prove defamation if the victim actually did the thing. My understanding is that POS was named as being heavily involved. Although if that's the case then why wasn't he removed.

The Roosters organisation as a whole may be a different story tho. If you or we are that pissed off then we should write to Politis or Cavanagh as a whole.
