  • will be very interesting how Robbo reacts to that performance

our so called new structure went straight out the window, didn't establish any forward dominance before playing ad-lib football, very much a 2011-2012 Smith coached type effort tonight.

very soft in defense tonight, no line speed, Raiders easily marched up and down the field on us tonight

not 1 player over 100m tonight.

some serious questions need to be asked about the balance of the 17 named tonight:

    - can we afford to keep carrying Mortimer on the bench if he is only going to play 20 minutes maximum a match, is it time to bring in Bosden to give Friend a spell if he needs it and then he can also play backrow

    - how much longer can we persist with SKD, simply not up to first grade standard

    - does Maubs do enough grunt work to be considered a backrower, only 2 hitups in 60 minutes of football tonight, should he be pushed out to right centre to replace SKD.

    - LOD/Kennedy seem to have little impact with ball in hand/slow play the balls and can be guilty of higher than average mistakes, penalties/handling errors, is it time for Tasi/Guerra/Evans/Bosden to come in.

    Did we win 20's?

We will not compete against the teams with the large forward packs in 2013.

Cant flog them at training due to short turn around.

Sure up the ruck defence, priority one.

We got owned out of dummy half.

          Embarrassing.

            Some fair points Fletch.

I have faith in Robbo, he will find the right combinations.

I think we will bounce back.

                yes yes yes yes.

It's a shame because they way we dominated the ruck v Brisbane was the best I had seen in years.

Exactly! Our markers were so slow and still getting up while there players were scooting out of dummy half making easy meters. The whole team seemed tired tonight. The 5 day turnaround really worries me against the dogs.

Maubs does nowhere near enough in attack and it's been apparent for a while now

Based on tonight the ball went nowhere near the left edge. Jennings didn't see it all night. Aubs been more than solid all year.

2.5 games with no score against us.... half time boys went in with big heads thinking they will take a walk in the park in the 2nd half. A train crash waiting to happen.

There were some good performances for the Jets at Brooky. I took the family over for a drive and we won 38 - 10. My twins even got a chance to help out as ball boys on the field. They were stoked. Benny Jones' brother was one of the other ball boys. Jones was one of the best on ground too. Not up to NRL standard but good.
Anyway, the Jets forwards steamed up the middle all day and Manly (who beat the Bullcheats the week before) were powerless to stop them. Evans looked good. I think he needs at least 5 more kilos on his frame though. Josh Alomai and Saulaula Houma were both great and much to my surprise and delight, Yileen Gordon smashed them. Good offloads, good runs, good defence.
In the backs, both wingers got a double and played well all game. henare wells was good too. He also seems a little light though. Riley Jacks was okay but injured his finger. Our centres were solid.
All in all it was a great performance from the whole team. A much needed win for the boys.
BTW - Brookvale oval is sh1t. Poor facilities, terrible seats, no leg room and no hot food or beers were available at the game. And the Jets out numbered the Manly supporters. You should've seen the look on people's faces when the 'old faithful' Jets supporters came through the gates with their flags, etc. it was like the Manly supporters(players family members) couldn't believe that anyone would actually support the NSW Cup. Go Jets!!
