RLW forced to print retraction involving statements about SBW's contract

interesting tweet just released by the club, appears that the RLW were implying that Brian Canavan had released specific details about SBW's contract in an article released this edition.

RETRACTION:
On page 31 of the April 17 issue of RLW, a quote about details of Sonny Bill Williams' Roosters contract was wrongly attributed to club CEO Brian Canavan. Brian did not discuss the terms of Williams’ contract – nor has he ever discussed any player's contract during his long career in rugby league. This was a production error made by RLW and we apologise to Brian if his integrity was compromised in any way.


good to see the club chasing down some media wrong doings, just wish they could find a way to shut up Rothfield when he goes on one of his drunken twitter raids.

Was the quote in single or double quotations? According to Media Watch that makes all the difference.

If Phil "Buzz" Rothfield had even the slightest but of evidence that suggested out club were deliberately breaching the salary cap he would have already published this in the newspaper.

I'm having a rest mate. My band actually plays in Sydney mostly and I was getting sick of the constant flying and lugging guitars. So I have a guy filling in for me. They are off to Malaysia to play next week. Gotta love the Corporate events. Those guys have too much money
