Was the quote in single or double quotations? According to Media Watch that makes all the difference.

Brian Canavan is quoted as saying "Sonny is on 550 thousand" means he said it.

The thing with Canavan:

they quoted BC as saying that SBW was on 550k. how did this happen? Did someone else supply the figure, or did they make it up and forget to attribute it to an "inside source"?

Investigative journalism at it's best...
If you don't have figures then make them up and attribute them to somebody who would know (but wouldn't tell anybody.)

BC's a champ... I met him briefly at a meet and greet. Glad he's in charge of operations, the difference he has made (with those around him) is obvious throughout the whole club!
