It's going to be weird having a Tongan side and a Kiwi side in our three quarter line.

Iam with Yak, barring a long term injury to Pearce or Maloney in the next couple years, Langi to me looks like the guy to replace SBW. A big guy with an explosive turn of foot and ball skills is a fairly rare commodity. Whilst he is just potential at this stage, IMHO he is too good a talent not to be a priority for a starting position by 2015.

I might not have that right but if I do then it's not like we're gonna release the bloke when he's seen as potentially a gun first grader. Maybe once his contract ends it may be a problem but playing for a winning team might mean more than getting an extra 100k to him, especially if he gets a reasonably big contract off us. No need to worry about it just yet.
            off contract dis yr

with a bit of luck pearce might be overlooked for5 origin then souths can lose their halfback and risk major injury!

i honestly hope no roosters players get picked for origin.
ive said it before ill say it again, i would much prefer we lose origin and win a premiership than win origin and miss out on a premiership due to an injury suffered to a key player.

i think jnr and MJ are lock ins. Would they play reynolds at 6 maybe? Maloney and reynolds are the only goal kickers i think too.

youre right, pearce is all but guaranteed a spot and Jennings is heading in the right direction. if daley has any brains he would pick Maloney alongside pearce because of the partnership they will have by then. cordner could also be a smokey for the bench, but i think he is still a year or two away.

I think ive got a jersey autograpghed by roosters that has 4 or 5 captains including Phil Clarke cant remember what year i bought it framed only for that reason had 5 or so world captains in teh side...no wonder we were useless ..too many chiefs not enough Indians

Yep i reckon cordner is a yr or two away, id put mateo in for t-rex this yr.

Any reason they wouldnt pick jnr and reynolds and play one on each side of the field? I think the no goal kicker option works against bird being picked as adefensive 5/8

we would have no spark in attack if we picked pearce and Reynolds (and i assume you mean adadm Reynolds)
neither pearce nor Reynolds have that 'something out of nothing' ability that carney and, to a lesser extent, Maloney have.

and i agree with having mateo in the side as well.

Thats the reason i think mateo has to play, i dont think maloney is that different to pearce and reynolds unless they play on the same side of the field like at the chooks, i doubt daley will take that style on to be honest.
