I've always maintained that we should never have bought Carney in the first place unless we were releasing Anasta this year which I could not see happening. Our club seems to go after anybody who has a reputation. I think the money would have been better off buying a quality frontrower like Sam Burgess. But he is here now and you'd probably have to play him at fullback because Anasta has proven his worth to the team IMO this year. He really stepped up and his combination with Pearce shouldn't be broken. IMO Let Carney earn the five-eighth spot and not just have it given to him.

Before we reshuffle the side to accommodate him, can anyone confirm Carney has officially signed?? The Roosters haven't announced it as yet.
Whether the media say he's signed or not, or what the bloke says himself is irrelevant. Until both he and the Roosters have both signed any contract, it's worth nothing.
And Braith Anasta must be in the team for 2010 if not longer. We are in desperate need of experience, maturity and leadership in the side, and there are very few other blokes who can provide one of those attributes, let alone all 3 like he can.

The Tigers would have to be out of their mind to trade Lawrence for anybody. He is still young and has established himself as one of the genuine upcoming talents alongside Jennings, Mortimer etc. in the NRL. I wouldn't mind the Tigers being stupid on this one and signing Tuqiri, releasing Lawrence so then we can release Sa and buy him. Sounds good to me. This would then allow Mitch Aubusson to play him real position, lock.

Lawrence is a wonderful player and I would welcome him with open arms."The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."
